From those mentioned Browny's leg, but the worst occured behind the play when some filthy St Kilda bastard (name escapes me at the minute) felled John Greening who never fully recovered and died more than once in the hospital that night.

Blake Caracella's injury would be ranked up there as well. Although it perhaps didn't "look" as bad as some of the others whilst in play, afterwards when you found out the effects it has to be one of the worst injuries ever.

Peter Caven was on the end of Pluggers elbow.

It was also Caven that was sent by the coach to collect him from the airport when he first arrived in Sydney, obviously in an attempt to get them to 'mend thier bridges'. Caven must not have felt too much like mending bridges and finished his "stellar" career with the Camrys.

Caven won a flag from memory though from memory? I'd imagine he would be happy with that, something Plugger never acheived

Trent Hentschel last year.

Had to wait months before he could have his ACL injury operated on. I think they took bone from the hip and totally rebuilt his knee.

I know it isn't Football but NBA player Shaun Livingston's leg injury from earlier this season was just terrible, his whole body collapsed and sent his leg in the wrong direction, plenty of footage on youtube

Worst I've seen in any sport is the NHL goalie who gets his throat cut in a goalmouth collision - the commentators screamed to take the cameras off him because it looked for all money like they were watching someone die.

Apparently there were 2 heart attacks and numerous faints in the stadium at the sight too.

Only survived because the team doctor was a combat medic in Vietnam and pinched the artery shut with his fingers until it could be sutured.

Also widely available on YouTube.

Clint Malarchuk - scary footage indeed.

Saw some still pictures of Livingston's injury - gruesome.

Neil Sachse.... at least these named can walk

Correct, absolutely no 'contest' though that seems an very inapporpriate word to use.

Perhaps thread should be titled worst injury in the last 10 years, as the Sachse injury is something I hope we never have to see happen on a football field ever again.
