who is the worst player you have ever seen from The Melbourne Football club we'll make it the player had to of played 50 games to be aligble. I'm going to say Alastair Nicholson was the worst i've seen.

Robert Pyman didn't play 50 games did he? Nettelbeck? Damien Gaspar? Chris Sullivan?

We have had heaps, the problem is I doubt many of them reached 50 games.

Negative Phil, Pyman rarely busted the hyman with 40 games.

Can't go past Mark Jamar.

Bit harsh, loved Riggers.
So did the opposition's defensive coach because you knew the ball was going, about 25m out, probably not the worst tactic really when we had a dominant CHF/FF combo. It would be a bit of a laugh with the current side.

That said, you couldn't fault Riggers' application, wore his heart on his sleeve. Very similar to Moloney when you think about it.

Rough on Clark there. I can still remember his solitairy game against St Kilda and IIRC he wasn't too bad.
Correction.

You remember he kicked a goal with his first kick and think he wasn't too bad.

In actual fact, he was pretty deplorable, hence why his first game turned out to be his solitary game.

Haha very true.

Was a good goal:thumbsu:

Haha sure was, in acres of space (wheres his opponent you ask), strolls to 50 and drills it. Cue mass celebrations, the trademark "joins the select club" call, and entry into MFC "one game wonder" history.

Luke Williams for +50 games and honorable mentions for Grgic, Carroll, Jamar and Godfrey. I never rated Hopgood either, but I'm sure I'll get slaughtered for mentioning him.

Those under 50 games...

426 - Rancid, but what a story with his comeback game.

David Cockatoo-Collins/Cam Hunter - How they played two games I'll never know.

Weetra - enough said.

Scott Chisholm - for somebody who people actually think was good and somehow topped our Brownlow votes in 1999 he was shithouse.

Nicho wasn't bad before he did his knee as far as I was concerned. Then he was hot and cold - wouldn't be making any "best of" lists but certainly not a complete disgrace.

Let this list jog your memory on some other slops

Kowal was a gun.

Rigoni. The 90's version of Brent Moloney, get it and bomb it long and high.

You must be high, Rigoni was 10 times better than Kowal. Darren Kowal was Jace Bode's dad surely.

Darren Kowal was alright , he could get the ball just made a few mistakes with it but l remember him kicking a few good running goals, still playing in the WAFL l think or has just retired

Trevor Spencer for me.

Never did an individual work so hard at avoiding the football whilst pretending he was competing for it.

Weetra didn't get a lot of chances, however he seemed petrified.I thought Nicho was allright especially seeing he wasn't from a football background.Daren Kowal was ok I thought.

If they go out there and have a go I generally don't mind them , even if they're not so skilled.

Haven't laughed so much in years reading some of our comments.

However my laughter turned into frustration & anger when I quickly remembered that these "footballers" inflicted pain on us , week after week.

It has to be NICHOLSON by a country kilometre ..surley?!!

For me the clincher was my memory of Nicholson , fumbling the oncoming football, which somehow bypassed him and went straight into the hands of Lloyd ,who kicked teh easy goal...and we went onto lose that elimination final by 5 points.!!!!!!:mad::mad:

Also, still can't believe Nicholson was our first choice full back in the 2000 GF on a Matty LLoyd who was at the top of his game in 2000. We had no hope.

So...who is more at fault ? Nicholson , or the match committe that picked this bloke week after week so that he reached 100 games for the MFC? and PAID him 250k+ per year to get his average of 5 handballs and 2 kicks per game.!! A disgrace.

He used to be my neighbour - couldn't cook a steak to save himself.
