It's very regional. A drunk, middle aged Glaswegian is not nearly as easy on the ears as a young lass from Edinburgh/Aberdeen.

I don't like afrikaans but i love a south african accent. It sounds pretty on a girl and sleezy on a guy though.

People anti the "Scottish accent" are cretins who don't realise, as you say, there is no such thing as a "Scottish accent". There are a wide variety of accents in Scotland. Very distinct too.
