G'day,

I tried this in the Dream Team 2008 thread but got no love.



Foward line is set
Rucks i'm happy with
Mids I'm happy with and Palmer is doing the job for now
But my backs are pissing me off. I have the cash on the bench to upgrade my players but I just don't know who to. There's been no consistent premium backs this year and they're all in danger of getting defensive roles.

So any tips on how to fix that backline? Who should I trade my cows down to, who should I trade my mid tier backs up to?

I've got 11 trades and 36k in the bank.

IMO, Bones, Mattner and Wonaeamirri are priority to get rid of.

Oh yeah. Is Hargrave a serious option? Will he continue to pull 80+ scores as long as he keeps the role he's had the last few weeks?
 
Your team is alright, except why not cash in gamble? Then use that cash to upgrade palmer to ablett? Domination.

I wouldn't even worry about your backline, cept maybe to upgrade Jones to goddard or king?

Personally
Geary -> Ward
Wone -> Stiffy

Next week
Gamble - > Valenti
Jones -> Milburn

Lastly
Wood -> Down
Mattner/Palmer up would personally go Palmer up and keep bradshaw/mattner 6th/7th backs

Upgrading Wona, Bones and Mattner would be more beneficial then upgrading Palmer to an extremely expensive Ablett.

Yeah but the waste of trades for the same points gain? Everyone knows the backline is as fickle as a rudd promise. Why waste trades when one week they're all scoring 80, then 50?

I"d rather use 2 trades on a simple 50 point gain a week. Plus the extra captain choice.

I know what I'm talking about, I work inside all the main clubs as the local flag waver :P

I think you need to maybe put trade Rioli for R.O Keefe and then maybe Ibbotson so N.Bock(althogh i think Ibbo is a keeper)

I'd still think there are 7 decent backs. The thing that pisses me off about the backs is the inconsistency that's why I'll probably trade up to Milburn, Mackie and Wheatley. I graphed their weekly scores and they were the best three for scoring power and consistency.

I may only be getting an average of 8 or so points more a week from each upgrade but at least I can count on them more than the blokes I have at the moment. My midfield is at the point where upgrading them will only get me an average of 8 or so more points anyway. Except for maybe Palmer who still has some money left in him. I'll probably straight swap him for a Green or a Hayes.

Richmond do not conceed DT points. Other than Sydney, Richmond conceed the least points. Even when they get flogged they restrict the oppositions DT scores relatively well.

no offence, u have way to many non-keepers, and little trades in hand, i mean amrfield, rioli, kruezer, need upgrading at least and there are others maybe IMO, gee, sorry might be a little harsh though... btw wat r u ranked?

I'm not going for ranking, but rather my league win. Most of the guys here seem to be going for ranking for some obscure reason? Dont you guys have mates? My league is made up of 15 of my mates, we love the competition. Im coming second currently, and would rather win the comp then give a shit about NR.

r u going to safely finish in the 4?
if u r u should hold onto ur trades, cause 4 for the year isnt very many, also an upgrade first week of finals can really give ur team a big boost whilst most other teams are struggling to field their first 22

Yeh there is about 6 players in there i wouldnt consider keeping

you could take that to 5 if im being generous and maybe 4 if kennely could keep healthy
