Energy and form have been down since coming back from injury, Leon said he knows he hasn't been doing enough to keep his spot and he is sure he will work his way back into the team..

Was among the BOG - Steele and Hopper the other standouts for mine.

Palmer is merely injury cover now. Bunts good.

But when it's 174 to 24 the defence doesn't see a lot of it - and were certainly never under any kind of pressure.

Liked 47 and 49 whoever they were - and the other Jezza - just so composed, a surprisingly beautiful kick for a backman. Flynn progressing nicely. Like him too.

Macreadie and Powell.
Anyone know anything about Powell? Haven't seen him before?

The 16-year-old inside midfielder is being groomed for the 2017 AFL draft as one of 27 players from across the country and the sole representative from the ACT in the level-one AFL Academy. He is also in the GWS Giants Academy system, the under-18 NSW/ACT Rams and has a rookie contract with the Canberra Demons in the NEAFL. http://www.canberratimes.com.au/spo...t-to-represent-australia-20160413-go51l9.html

Midfielders Lochie O'Brien, Jack Higgins, Charlie Spargo, Jack Powell and half-back Hunter Clark are among the early standouts for next year's draft. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-05-09/strong-draft-crop-expected-for-2017-

WHE's body breaking down all the time is a real issue now. It's not like it is a weak point like a particular joint or muscle group. It's something different each time, so hard to put a management plan in place. He only has a short period of time for his body to harden up. Meanwhile he will be jumped by others. Feel for the guy.

Could be Swans/Giants GF which should be a great game although I will have a look at the eligibility rules to see who will not be available from the likely starters

AFL Listed players must have played a minimum of 3 NEAFL games to be eligible and if they have played more than 5 AFL games they need to have played 9 NEAFL games

It always seems to be the non AFL sides win the finals. I went Blackown to watch us play Aspley a couple if years ago. Seemed me they wanted it bad and our guys just weren't as committed.I saw Brett Hand say it wasn't the Goal to win the NEAFL but to develop AFL players.

Not a bad side

B: Buntine, Corr, Himmelberg
HB: McKenna, Mohr, A.Kennedy
C: Palmer, Steele, Hoskin-Elliott
HF: Lloyd, Stewart, Finlayson
F: Downie, Flynn, Reid
Foll: Simpson, Barrett, M.Kennedy

Int: Byrne, Fisher, Owen-Auburn, Macreadie

That side with some games strung together would challenge a bottom eight side. Not saying they would win much, but no easy beats either.

Yeah
I'm going over early again to watch
Feel a bit for the Lions reserves, they are all off our list from what I can see. Dont anyone tell the VFL, the envy will be palpable.

I think this only applies if the senior side is not playing that week. Which will be in effect in Week 2 of the NEAFL finals as that coincides with the AFL bye.
