A number of both senior and new players looked very ordinary. The structures didn't seem to match what we would want in the main season - an exceedingly tall forwardline for starters, that resembled what West Coast's was last year.

First game and all, but compared to the corresponding NAB match last year, there's less to be excited about.

Shit scoreline in both matches and personally didn't watch because of my disgust with the format. When I did flick over, I was unfortunate to witness shit and diabolical umpiring decisions or lack thereof. Not as much excitement about 2011 now and frankly it's disappointing but I can't say I'm not surprised.

Blame the tops and the logo changes for this effort tonight. Less colours makes us slower for some reason and shows that Rosich and Harris have no clue when it comes to the important thing which is onfield performance.

Coincidentally finally saw a new top in Melbourne today and I didn't like it and the price at all (was a home top). Looked at it and just felt sickened and I didn't see anything Freo in it at all.

I'm glad they decided to play this game in the navy blue and didn't disgrace the purple.

I don't give a toss about the results, we have never given pre-season games much credence, but some of the senior players seemed pretty underdone if that's what they're going to bring to the season proper. Crowley, in particular, was on a holiday somewhere.

Positive signs from some of the new guys - Mzungu, Griffin, Faulkes & Anthony. Zac Clarke's progress was also impressive. Forward line will work well when Kep learns when to stay out of a contest. Mzungu a walk-up start for round 1.

To all the sycophants who just can't handle the slightest criticism of the club or its "all new" cereal box marketing direction, you can blow it out your arse.

Think you mean permanent disability benefits . Didn't see the first game however in the second I relived the joy of seeing him go to ground on the ball giving wc a free kick . I forgot how much I loved seeing him lose his feet. Furthermore I was in heaven when I saw him fumble a short pass in defense then recover to kick a floating up and under to a random group of players 30 meters away . Sent tingles all down my spine.

Not sure who was missing from The Hawks best 18 or the Eagles best 18 but we had 12 guys who would be in the starting line up not playing in each of the 2 games.
(I have included Hayden Barlow and Morabito, maybe a little unfairly)
