Every year i tell myself this will be the last WWE game i'll get. And every year they put something else in it that makes me want it. This year it's create an arena. I love customising shit (spend more time in the CAW section than i do wrestling normally) and have been wanting custom arenas to make a return ever since WWF Attitude.

Same here Shane, except last year I forgot all about the franchise until I found 2010 on my shelf still in its wrapping lol

I usually play the shite out of these titles but last year I just couldn't get into it. Struggled to get through the RTWM stories which I usually love.

I read somewhere there's only three this year?

IGN gave it a 9, saying the wrestling action has gone back to a more familiar style of No Mercy from the N64 days.

WWE '12 features so much content that it's impossible to give due diligence here to each of its deep modes. Yet none of that depth would matter if the gameplay was sub-par. THQ's efforts in breathing new life into its core mechanics have paid off. Combat now has a natural flow that not only makes sense from the perspective of a player but from the perspective of someone watching a wrestling match take place. The tension and drama that should be present inside the ring are there, and the only reason that's possible is because there is a balance and fine-tuning in the mechanics.

What THQ has done here serves its audience spectacularly. WWE '12 retains and improves upon the already-great presentation of its predecessors, capturing a likeness of wrestling that is uncanny. And it plays just as well as it looks. This should be considered a milestone for the wrestling simulation genre. It's certainly a much-needed breath of fresh air. Let's just hope every year can continue to be this remarkable - the bar is now set very high.

9.0 Presentation
Some incredible work here, recreating the WWE experience in a dramatic, almost lifelike way. The story needs some work.

8.5 Graphics
On the ramp and in the ring, the graphics are great. When it comes to acting, the results are about as good as you might expect.

7.5 Sound
All the music you want is here, and so are the wrestlers' voices, but the wrestlers have more passion on TV.

8.5 Gameplay
The core mechanics are excellent, but the single-player story doesn't want to let you use them.

9.5 Lasting Appeal
There are almost too many options. Online is great but the interface is a bit awkward.

I do the same thing, i have been disappointed in WWE games since "Shut Your Mouth" on the ps2. That has been a benchmark for me, every game since has been a let down for me.

Yet i have purchased every single one since, the kicker is in the length of time i spent playing them. Particularly 07 - 10. I went from playing the early Smackdown games all year round, to lasting 6 months or less, to 3 months or less, to a month or less, to a few weeks or less, to a couple of days..... before never playing them again. I only purchased Smackdown vs Raw 2011 a few months ago due to it being reduced to $25.


WWE All Stars was a great "break" for me, loved it a lot.

Here's hoping i can change it back to last years config.

My first match Me (punk) vs Sin Cara.

Punks entrance wasnt correct :( and managers dont walk to ringside with you.

Graphics are so-so

Sin Caras entrance was spot on

Hehe loving Road to Wrestlemania already, got to Celtic Cross Cena off the Stage through a table 2 mins in.

Once again theyve relied far too heavily on a clunky unresponsive counter system (Press right trigger to at precisely the right time to counter, if you press it 2-3 times consecutively it doesnt counter. Why wouldnt you use Right Bumper instead of trigger? using the trigger just feels weird). One of my biggest gripes with the series. Doing the RTWM story and at bragging rights it was almost impossible to get a move in on Show because his countering skill is so insanely high, not because hes so large, he was just doing technical counters over and over.

Heres an Idea, Stop whingeing, every post I see of yours whinge whinge whinge.

Go look at other threads, soon as a game comes out it becomes a spoilerfest, if you dont like it stay away. Geez you would top yourself if you went and read the Skyrim thread.

Ive indicated I was in a match with Big Show, did I indicate who else was in the match if anyone? Did I indicate how the story led up to me having a match including big show or whether it was just a random 1 on 1 match? Your answer is No.

RTWM is fun *SPOILERZZZ!*

Sound is great, graphics are okay.

Controls feel a bit overcomplicated but might just be because I didnt play last years installment.

Will probably dive into CAW tonight.

Whoever did the ref AI needs to be fired though, continually gets in the way, more so than past installments. Hopefully they patch it.
