WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2011

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

i got smackdown vs raw 2010 and barely play even though i think it's a good game so probably won't get 2011 even though i'm getting more interested in the wrestling again lately. (having iq2 and being able to chain record it helps)

might make this an every 2 years series like alot of people do with sports games...it does look quite good though and a decent graphics upgrade to boot

Yeah I'm doing every 2 years with this too. Especially since the timing of these games is usually very poor with heaps of new wrestlers left out (and DLC has been horrible). I did't get 2010.

Codebreaker off the ladder! Sold! Even though there are probably only 3 different moves you can do off the ladder, that being one of them.

EDIT: Just read there are around 10 ladder finishers, not bad.

I just hope the game is good, they got it almost perfect with "Here Comes the pain" ever since then there have been some features taken out, a lot put in and a lot of frustrating little quirks.

Are these games any good? I haven't played a wrestling game since No Mercy on N64. I guess once I lost interest in the WWF, I lost interest in the games, but they were fun. Dwayne Johnson .

as far as fun factor goes, the earlier smackdowns were far superior to the current games with the series peaking at "here comes the pain".
lesnar was an absolute beast and actually was scary to face off against as he was the only real legit threat of beating you since he was so damn powerful!

since then it's seemed to try and be more realistic...still quite good but without the awesome characters of the past.

probably only worth getting if you're still a wrestling fan.

for the record the rock IS in smackdown vs raw 2010 but you have to beat the game with a certain character to unlock him.
he's the highest ranked character in the game. (i also bought stone cold from the ps store (:o) and i think he's equal with the rock stats wise)

Does anyone else find it odd that wrestling games lead the entire medium in character customisation? How the hell did that happen? You'd think western RPG's would be right up there, but Smackdown puts them all to shame, and has done so for about a decade!

Probably the only reason I'm interested in SvR11, as the actual wrestling part of the game hasn't been interesting to me in a while. I'd love something a bit closer to Def Jam, but not expecting it and it won't be a deal breaker. About once a year I get a hankering to create a camp badass in dayglo and have him bash the shit out of the upper card and pick up Torrie Wilson along the way.

Other than a better fighting engine, I would liek to see (but am not expecting to see)

*No clipping
*Your create a wrestler to not look noticably less polished than the proper wresters
*a mode where you get to to play as a badass woman who bashes the shit out of men, none of this gay diva division nonsense
*commentary that isn't rubbish
*A Torrie Wilson more, where it's just videos of her dancing naked and bathing herself in chocolate sauce. She must be a bit hard up for cash now, surely? She's done nothing in the last few years.

Also, do they do, like, a classic matches mode? Something similar to what was in the UFC 09 game? That could be pretty awesome, especially if they got Torrie Wilson to host it.

Another thing I'm not sure on, but is there a career mode where you start in some backwoods league and work your way up? That could work...

The problem for me has been the want is always there (dunno why says HBK619) but all the features seem to either sound WAY better than they end up being or they're just broken from the start.

Here Comes the Pain was the last game that really kept me interested for the full year to the next and then it just started to falter with all different sort of implementations coming in.

The thing I miss is the really genuinely good season modes. They've been so dull and crap and are over just as you're getting into it.

The creation elements (as VD put it) have always been the best part of the game (I can personally remember many a night with mates just trying to replicate down the the eyebrows ever single wrestler that was left out or just adding in a different costume) and I love the create your own season mode feature, sounds very good. But I'm just not sure how much scope that has and whether it would actually turn out to be any good.

SD VS RAW Games have been pretty poor for awhile now. Always get hyped up a fair bit but the game engine has barely been changed for a long while now and it seems they're just tacking on features that sound interesting but become stale after awhile, whilst making the graphics slightly better.

The create modes are cool but the game engine itself needs a big overhaul, as does the story/career modes they do.

Here Comes the Pain was the absolute best Wrestling game. Now with the SM v Raw it has started teetering out. The season modes in the past just went to quick and I didnt like it how you pretty much start as a contender for the World title now matter which Wrestler you picked. In Here Comes The Pain you work your way up with Tag Team titles and Intercontinental/US. I have every wrestling game up until SM v Raw 09 which is when I lost interest in the games and the WWE itself. But I will be keeping an eye on this one.

Ill probably get 2011 i tend to get the wrestling games each year in the hope that career mode has an epic story line or more depth/length to it. The last couple were shit for that i think 2008 or 2007 was an ok year for career. The problem with wrestling games these days there is not enough variety (challenges, creation etc..) its pretty much nearly the same and no real challenge although i find doing MITB matches incredibly challenging but frustrating to the point i let the cpu finish the match while i watch the tv.

I get every Wrestling game that comes out because it's "Wrestling".
I love the create modes. The one thing that is standing out for me is the Tables & Ladders. It's about time they update them. I can't wait to get the game. I don't play online with that WWE Games because it lags to much.

i haven't bought one of these games in years. played a few of them, but haven't bought them. i don't really watch wrestling any more, and there's always been too many annoying quirks.

playing with or against someone remains great fun, but playing alone blows - creating wrestlers is a pain, and season mode has only gone backwards over the past 6 years.

other say here comes the pain was the nexus for wrestling games - i dunno, the year before that (i can't even remember what it was called) was it for me. it was the first wrestling game i played on a "newer gen" console (ps2) and watching jericho's entrance blew me away. although hctp was the first with an elimination chamber wasn't it? they're great fun to play against say, a little brother :)

'Shut Your Mouth' (is what it was) and I definitely agree. They really stepped up with that version. HCTP certainly took SYM to the next level but SYM really was a monumental upgrade and I have to say I probably had a bit more fun with it too I think I still considered (or do consider it) my favourite despite the better upgrade that was HCTP.

I think the thing that really disappointed me for the Smackdown series was that when it took on the 'Vs Raw' name I thought it had amalgamated the WWE Raw XBOX series, which while it had some strange gameplay differences to the Smackdown series there were some amazing things that I would've loved to see brought in instantly that only really came in a few years ago once the overall quality had dipped massively (the create an entrance and graphics were something to marvel at).

WWE RAW games were absolute abhorrent crap. So glad the 360 got the proper SD v RAW games.

They weren't superb and were nowhere near the Smackdown games (on PS2, IMO they'd be better than any of the current SD Vs Raw games bar maybe last years). But they had a lot that ended up coming to SD Vs Raw titles, the biggest one I can think of off the top of my head would be the damage system and a lot of the actual wrestling engine was very good and the SD Vs Raw games have really gone on and mimicked that more than continue from the original Smackdown games.

There were a lot of very good little touches to the game and I was addicted to the 'create an entrance' feature...me and my mate just constantly kept changing up entrances.:D Can't believe it took so long for that to come to a SD Vs Raw game. Another thing is interaction with weapons, how long did it take to get PROPER interaction with weapons in a SD Vs Raw title? When 7 years ago WWE Raw 2 had it! And as good and fun as the Smackdown/SD Vs Raw CAW features were and have been, WWE RAW 2 basically has had the more functional and full featured system...again 7 years ago! You really created a proper superstar back then, it's taken a long time really for the current version to properly catch up (You could even use your OWN music as an entrance song...7 YEARS AGO!!!).

oh my God, i haaaated the wwe raw games on xbox.

stupid me, in love with wrestling games at the time, spent an inordinate amount of money as a uni student on an xbox (complete with crap like memory cards that i didn't even need) especially because i saw a great review for wwe raw.

i got it... and within about 2 hours, i couldn't believe what i'd done. it remains to this day the worst thing i ever bought... i hardly even played that xbox cos i hated the controller. (although have a 360 now and love it).

wwe raw 2 wasn't much of an improvement, but i was the same... i LOVED creating entrances. i just hated having to have 20 minute matches before u could submit an opponent, because getting a 3 count took a ridiculous amount of time.
