Y o Y did the Hawks let Baird get away? He is such a great player- he has been great for the Roos- we have been able to give McCartney time down forward- we have had alot of freedom- Baird has been great.. all he needs is a bit of bulk (it showed when he played against Tarrant) apart from that he's great!! And the bulk wont take long...

Believe me, if we'd had our way he'd be playing in the brown and gold. He was on the rookie list and quite frankly didn't show quite enough to stay on, apart from an exhibition game in London. He was brilliant for BHH last year, and we were all calling for him to get drafted, but the Hawks gambled on picking him up in the rookie draft and it backfired. Major disappointment, especially given our current plight with lack of talls.

Still, I wish Bairdy all the best, a top bloke who really deserves a good crack at AFL.
