Don't really care what anyone thinks here, if they agree or not. I wanted Yarran to step up today, but it's clear he doesn't really care if he is out there or not.

Only once did he attempt to chase someone down with any intent and he didn't even get close. Every other time was half arsed attempts. Give someone who wants to be out there a go.

Sure this may be harsh but for someone who just got his spot 2 weeks ago, he sure isn't working as hard as he should. Look at Betts how hard he fights for the ball regardless of the score. Betts is a absolute star and Yarran needs to pull his head in.

He was very quiet in the first 2 quarters except for when he snagged that goal at the end of the 2nd quarter but he will still get a run next week... Didn't really seem to want the ball that much but I think he showed enough...

Then why post? You want us to care what you think, but bodly claim you don't care about anyone else's opinons

So we should criticise players if they are not as fast as other players  Want to rethink that mate.

He didn't gve up the chase even though he didn't have the speed to make ground - a lot of other players would have simply given up.

Give someone who wants to be out there a go.

Don't mistake desire for what is likely nervousness.

Betts is a absolute star and Yarran needs to pull his head in.

Please don't compare these two as though they should be performing at the same level. Betts has only really taking that next step this year btw.

I agree in that Yarran needs more time and should be dropped, but the way in which you have conveyed this opinion is very poor.

Was surprised when he was included after not exactly setting the Ants on fire and has not really stepped up. I am sure the MC just wants matches under his belt but against better teams we do need 100% effort and commitment

Agreed he should be dropped.. is looking like a passenger

And to think we passed on ready made players like Ziebell and Rich

Ugh...here we go again.

Yay, let's all bag the second game player and write him off as a dud right now.

Give him time, he'll get his confidence, fitness up and get used to our gameplan and I have no doubt you doubters will be eating your words in a couple of years time.

Whether he's dropped next week however, well that's up to the MC. I'll trust their judgement.

yeah, nah, but, consider the salary cap in a few years from now. We need to hold all of Judd, Murph, Gibbs, Kruez, plus others and Yarran's smaller pay packet will help with that.

Sure will.. that's if he's still on our list

Argh....come on guys.

Hes not brilliant right now, but thats ok. As mentioned looks nervous, and his gametime isnt huge. Probably not ready right now, but plenty of upside

Whatever ....

Truth hurts

Cast your mind back to Bryce Gibbs' first season. He was christened "squibbs" after a forgettable incident in his 2nd game & really struggled to pick up the pace of the game.

Like Gibbs, Yarran is struggling with self belief, but rest assured in 2-3 years time he will be one of the most exciting players going around.

I suppose you would have written Kade Simpson off after his 3 no possession games at the commencement of his career.

FWIW, your credibility was shot to pieces the day you came onto BF & proclaimed that the Judd deal with Carlton had collapsed & he would be going to Melbourne. The unfortunate thing is, you haven't got any better since that embarrassment.

Why is everyone so uptight on this forum board?
I mean, seriously, can't anyone have a bit of a laugh anymore, and does anybody believe all the stuff written on these boards ?

So I take it that the media journos have credibility? They make up more garbage and lies than I ever would ...

The sad thing is a lot of you still remember that Judd deal and CBD stuff... gotta let it go guys

I think it is too early to bag Yarran, but the nonchalant way he swaggered in to kick for goal in the last Q was a bit worrying, unless that is his normal run up of course.

Disagree 110%. Yarran kicked a brilliant roving goal, and was involved in 2 goal assists. Clearly lacking match fitness, but showed plenty of talent and class. He'll be a star. :)

Yep.

Yarran has done absolutely nothing in 2 games.

If a player can't dominate the AFL as a teenager in his 2nd game then he is never going to make it.

Now who said that?????????

He needs a rest and needs to earn his spot. As people have mentioned he didn't set the ANTS games on fire, yet he got added.

He keep his spot he needs to show a hell of a lot more commitment and determination. Thats a fact, don't give 2 shits if he sets the world on fire or not, but show some class in playing for the blues

Didn't look like he was on for very long, considering the nature of the score was surprised to not see him play the whole or most of the final quarter. Will be interesting to see his TOG, dare i say 50-60%, hard to get involved with such limited TOG.

Yarran is 18 and just played his second game

Yes he looks laconic and missed an easy goal, but the reason he looks laconic is because that's his natural way - check the youtube highlights of him last year.

Was also clearly affected by nerves, would never have played on the MCG in front of 82000 people b4.

Give him time and a chance. Many high draft picks took much more than 2 games to get into gear, not to mention last year's bronwlow medalist, our own andrew walker and bryce gibbs.

If he wasn't a number 6 pick, we'd be saying he's shown a bit and is worth persisting with

Well said mate.....I am sure those on here bagging Yarran after 2 games and having played his 2nd game in front of 82,000 are all former brownlow medalists who know exactly what he is going thru playing at an elite level of football.
