i really don't get these jumpers

i refused to get one when I was high school because why would i buy a new jumper for one year!?I have this one already without my name or every other dickhead at school's name written all over it

then there's the campaigners who wear it a couple of years later when they have finished school and it's basically a giant birth certificate saying 'I AM THIS OLD AND I WENT TO THIS SCHOOL'

It's something you buy to commemorate your possibly 6 years at high school, which would have amounted to 1/3 of your life at the time. It's something that's unique (in a sense), to that year level. It's the same as spending money on a t-shirt at a concert, and then to wear it after the concert.

Our school always had Leavers (that's schoolies to you weirdo Easterners) jumpers. Ours was a hoodie with the names of each student on the back and some kind of school emblem / class of 2001 thing on the front.

Not really a fan of the ones kids have these days with the giant '15' in the middle and a nickname across the shoulders. Makes you look like you're in the high school football team in some cheesy seppo teen movie. Actually makes you look like you think you're in the high school football team in some cheesy seppo teen movie. Pretty exclusive club that, every student in the year group.

Also people finishing high school in 2015 can GTFO. If you weren't even alive for Jakovich vs Carey don't talk to me.
