Was supposed to play Sunday at Queens Park Geelong, but spending the week in the Northern hospital with multiple blood clots on my lungs has put a stop to it rather quickly. May not play for a while now :(

Get better ffs

Had his tee time pushed back nearly 2 hours due to storm that rolled thru. Gave me a chance to watch the PGA though. :)

He started out of sorts and bogeyed first three holes. Then played 4 thru 7 in -2.

On 8 pushed his drive right into bunker. Gave himself a look from 12 feet for par but wouldn't drop. On par 3 ninth pushed it right and got a hugely unlucky bounce nestling ball between 2 roots at base of tree.

He refused my suggestion to take the unplayable adamantly telling me he could hit a shot. I am telling you guys he had to go down at nearly a 90 degree angle just to get to ball. Took his sand wedge and somehow didn't touch the root behind the ball, got down to it, popped it over the root in front and landed the damn thing on the green.

Pace took it off as it rolled past hole but he got up and down for a bogey and finished with a 39.

Was good enough for tied 2nd out of 11 boys playing on Sunday. Winner was a "rival" of his that spent all summer in North Carolina getting ready for Worlds. He shot a 37. I am looking forward to seeing them paired later in fall.

Thanks gents, things are improving. Still trying to work out what happened, thinking is they have originated in my calf from a DVT from a recent flight to Perth.

Glad you are feeling better. On long flights I have used those special socks that help prevent clots. JFK to Moscow is a bitch.

I would suggest trying something out like that..hell I even use them for long drives.

Thanks mate, Perth to Melb, only 4 hours, i've flown Melbourne to NYC with no issues, may have just been bad luck. In saying that i have since purchased compression pants to wear on future flights

Make sure you rock them on the golf course too!
Add socks if you need to :D

Windy yesterday but no rain thank god. Working on a few things and the scoreboard showed this. not as bad as previous rounds, some positives from the round.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, accomplished the glorious feat of putting drive and provisional into a small village like I did a couple weeks ago.

None of you has a bad round. ;)

"It was not immediately clear if alcohol may have played a role in the incident."

Ooohhhh I think we all beg to differ on that. :)

I’ve been playing some good golf the last three weeks. Yesterday I had 39 points and finished second on a windy, cold day with tight lies and fast greens and fairways. Fast greens are my favourite as long as they’re playable. However, I should have won yesterday. A bad drive on 18 was fixed by a punch out onto the fairway leaving me 115m downwind from the pin. A fluffed wedge, my favourite shot, ended it. A five a two would’ve been enough to win on count back.

Just got back from first hit in 2 weeks. Not one good tee shot, and irons were pretty average, but surprised to see I was only 1 off my best score. I was putting well and hitting some lucky chip shots. Looking back at the round, a decent last hole would have beaten my best score, instead I shot an 8.

Kid took a completely self inflicted 8 on par 5 second hole and spent rest of tourney chasing those shots. He was still at +3 on the 7th tee but closed bogey-bogey-bogey (2 of those also self-inflicted) to finish with a second place 42. (self inflicted= crappy assed attitude)

Winner carded a 39, the other 8 kids in his age division finished 44 or worse.

No more tournaments until mid--September. Next up is the Regional Championship for Drive/Chip/Putt on September 8.

By the way, which one of you guys is gonna give me the day off and carry the bag for Mr. Sour Attitude? ;)

8 holes, 1 hour today at Peninsula-Kingswood (Kingswood course). Havent been there for some years now, the course will be closed later this year. Fairways were spongey (sandbelt) but the upkeep on some fairways was not up to standard. patchy, worn. Tuffs of grass around the greens (which ok helped stop my ball from running into the shit) in some spots. Almost public course like.

Anyway, had fun.
