Just seeing if there is much support for the SANFL here and if there is who do you support.

I am neither a Power or Crows supporter but living in Darwin we get the SANFL match of the round is usually broadcasted on ABC and going by that the most enjoyable team for me to watch is Glenelg.

The mighty Bulldogs......

Sadly I only get to about half a dozen games a year these days...:(

...plus finals of course.....;) :)

Questions for you MD.

How important have the Gowans twins been to Centrals recent premiership success?

Anybody who watches the SANFL can answer that with one word: VERY

When they retire (every season theres a rumour going around about them retiring) they will be a HUGE loss. Bigger than any of their other retirees in recent years. I believe this week wil be their 11th successive season in which they have participated in a Grand Final.

I know they have a large impact. I didn't word the question correctly. Are they the difference between winning or losing a premiership or even being a contender?

Yeah i would say they are the difference between being a contender and not being in the race. You need BOTH out there as well. Usually when there are 0 Gowans or just the 1 Centrals are a completely different side.

So in other words aggression/mongrel is a key ingredient in a teams success, especially premiership success?

I know where your are agoing with this Springy but don't forget that the tribunal system in the AFL is a lot different to the SANFL. Gowans twins wouldn't get away with half the stuff in the AFL these days.

You can just about kill someone is SANFL and the worst you get a 1 week ban :D

Port Adelaide won umpteen premierships in the SANFL with intimidation being an important part of their success.

Centrals have copied this recipe, and the Gowan twins are the masters of it.

Stiff/Mac that's what I have always thought, as you know. However, I was having a discussion with someone "in the know" from work yesterday and they reckon it's not an imprtant factor. Funny enough they are a Port Magpies supporter.
