I'm aware of and love the Miami Dolphins

I saw the Adelaide version on this board and thought that it looks like a good off-season time filler!

Once you're done it gives you the most popular choices for each position.

Unfortunately a lack of Brett Grgic and other past superstars makes the "ultimate" name somewhat false. :(

So what's your 22?

EDIT: Apparently Brad Green is not in our best team.

While the composition of an actual 22 might be arguable, what is pleasing is that for the first time in ages it is a simple matter to pick a side and be confident that they'll all be contributors. Some of the Daniher sides relied on 6-7 players deciding that they had "come to play".

I refuse to partake in this interactive team selection, given that you can't have an ultimate Melbourne 22 without the Cockatoo-Collins brothers.

Correct. I want Darren Cuthbertson in a pocket.

FB: Garland Frawley Rivers
HB: Bruce Warnock Green
C: Davey Moloney Morton
HF: Sylvia Bate Trengove
FF: Watts Jurrah Wonaeamirri
R: Jamar Jones Grimes
Inter: Martin Joel MacDonald Scully Petterd

First of all i realise James McDonald will be picked, but this is my ulitmate 22 which i picked what would be our best side for the future. Jmac cud take Petterds/Joel Mac spot in the 22.

The backline is a bit tall but Garland can play small like wise Petterd and Joel and James MacDonald can fill that role.

Havin our 3 best defenders Garland Frawley Rivers along with 3 of our most senior players in Bruce Warnock and Green adds stability to our backline. Both Bruce and Green will spend time in the mid field.

Davey to add pace on the wing, moloney's strength in the middle and morton will run all day.

Not a traditional HF line but all of Sylvia Bate and Trengove are strong above head, fit, can kick goals, can and will play in the midfield.

Watts, Jurrah will be our leading options with Wona at thier feet. Would love to see some Krakour brother type chemistry between Jurrah and Wona.

Jamar continue on from last yr and play 20 odd games, just about our most valuable player. Jones to step up and fill mcleans void, Grimes to continue his super star rise.

Martin such a versatile player can play down back, up forward but will be used as second ruckmen his versatility and agility get him a nod over PJ. Either Jmac as both can fill a role down back for us.

Scully will run all day can win the contested footy, uses the footy well by hand or foot. Petterd is probably the mini version of Martin, could play as rebounding defender, or attacking HFF or even as a mid fielder.

Not too sure if am keen on your team there Saj.

1. McDonald is the CAPTAIN so he plays he comes in for Scully(Has not proved he is ready for AFL senior footy yet)
2. Green should be up forward IMO. He is wasted down back
3. Miller plays at CHF, hes no superstar but we need an experianced KPF. Also without him we have a small forward line that will get bashed by the bigger stronger teams.
4. Trengove doesn't start on the ground (he still needs to prove himself worthy of a game. NAB he might do this)
5. I know I am missing something else but I will come back to it

My team isn't really for round one, its my ultimate team! But definitely agree MacDonald and Miller will be the round 1. Senior players will more times than not get the nod over first year players early in the year bcos they hav runs on the board.

I think Green may float around the ground this year he hasnt really played forward much since Bailey has taken over, i don't see what will change this year. You could argue his field kicking, senior experience and decision making is wasted if he is played in the forward 60 metres of the ground.
