Seeing them in Brissy tonight! Have heard they put on a good live show.

How many support acts did they have?
Nice one. The Corner Hotel here in Melb was chokablock. Most of the songs are live versions as well which is cool to hear them in a different way to the recordings. Just such a fun act.

They just one support act here, who I unfortunately missed due to lateness.

Papa Roach double-header at 170 Russell on Sunday the 21st & Monday the 22nd.

Because they are one of my all-time favourites and have been for a very long time, I thought I would go big and get a VIP Meet & Greet package. It cost a whopping $341.52 but you do get a fair bit for that, such as meeting the band, a photo with them, a photo with the guitarists guitar, a Q&A session, a documentary screening, a signed setlist, free merchandise shopping, a scarf, a deck of trading cards and of course the concert itself.

If there's one band I should ever do that for, then it's Papa Roach. Hopefully I have a great couple of nights.

So I had the Papa Roach double-header.

As soon as I arrived at the venue on Sunday Night their back-up member was chilling outside the venue so I got to chat with him which was awesome. They told us to arrive at 4:30 for the Meet & Greet but we didn't get let in until closer to 5:30. The meet & greet was also a bit quick for my liking. I literally walked in, shook their hands, said hello how you doing?, got the photo taken then said goodbye. I suppose that's better than nothing though.

They also almost forgot about how on-stage photo opportunity holding the guitarists guitar so me and somebody else needed to remind them. But despite all that, I've met one of my all-time favourites and that's what I wanted.

The performance itself was great but my only complaint was the set-list. 7 songs off their new album which is too many and no songs from 3 different albums + 1 EP.

I also met some new people and hopefully have some new friends there. Met them on the Sunday Night then caught up again on Monday which was nice so I'd love to stay in touch with them and all go together the next time Papa Roach are in town.

Stiff Little Fingers in a couple of weeks

Yeah. I only saw them last year so wasn't going to bother but they were fantastic and my mate has messaged me to go along.

So now

Stiff Little Fingers at The Rosemount - 19th February
Angel Olsen at Fremantle Arts Centre - 18th March
Squeeze at Astor Theatre - 1st May

Don't know if you're a fan but Bad Manners in May should be pretty good too, hard not to have fun at one of their gigs.

I have that gig in the see what is happening that week and if I can fit it in category. No doubt it will be great fun. I'm a bit concerned that I may be mistaken for Buster Bloodvessell !

lol.

Saw them about 18 months ago, he'd slimmed down a bit, they put on a great show.

Lameway Freo.

Not that hot on the lineup, pretty annoyed to see Loyle Carner and Wolf Alice clash as I've followed them for years but at least it's not them chucking two indie rock bands on at the same time as they usually do. Weird Mac DeMarco isn't headlining but he should be good for the sunset slot. Sandy Alex G should be pretty good too. Not huge but pretty happy to also see Slowdive, The Internet too... find The War On Drugs and Father John Misty really really shit and annoying and like a homemade indie reddit kid starter pack music but yeah. Haven't seen any of those acts before actually as I sold tickets for Mac on his first tour and he clashed at Lollapalooza last year and the only band I'm doubling up on are Rolling Blackouts CF who are ****ing sick anyway so who cares?

All in all generally just doing it because it's a 25 minute walk along the Marine Terrace for me or two minutes on the Cat. Already looking forward to a few lunchtime beers and a Nick's Place souva after. Generally just into people watching too so not the worst day out, absolutely beautiful venue too... world class park, big ferris wheel, beach two seconds away, art deco streetways...

They were brilliant. Highlights for me were Psycho (so much better live), Take a Bow, Stockholm Syndrome and of course Knights. Only seen them twice and both times lost my mind in Knights, great song live.

Didn't see Muse because it was on a Monday night and I couldn't find anyone to go with.

Really want to see them one day though.

Trying to get a ticket to The War On Drugs but the only thing that comes up is a $450 ticket on the ticketmaster resale site

After years of dismissing these guys, this song came up on Spotify after listening to a Black Mountain album.

Turns out their touring in March too. Thank you for reading the story of my life.
Some greenleaf has turned up on my Spotify before, sounds pretty good.

Really Looking forward to this, havn't heard any Pink Floyd stuff live and the setlist looks good.
Did anyone else go last night?
It was unreal. The second act in particular was mindblowing, I love all his effects, there's no holding back. The Animals segment was the best for me, that looked and sounded amazing.

I was overwhelmed too in some parts, Us and Them was just pure magic.
