After seeing one of the beheadings in Iraq (not live, just a video obv) I'm much more squeamish than I ever used to be, so I won't be going anywhere near this video.

But yeah, I'm sure I don't need to watch it to know what my opinion would be.

But there's no use complaining. Idiots do so many ****ed up things and most times the victims (or the public) do not get justice. No way anyone will get 5 years for killing an animal. Be a miracle if anyone got 2-3 years for such a cowardly act.

I can only shake my head at how lowlifes always have this Get Out Of Jail Free card in their back pocket. They can be seemingly normal for years, then they do something, kill someone, bash someone, kill a few pets, and out comes the card. Oh poor me, Daddy abused me, I have no friends, my girlfriend left me, blah blah blah. Always got that little insurance card that good law-abiding citizens don't.

It won't be long before they catch the mongrels, but they'll be receiving a puny community-based order at best, for their troubles. Such an ass is the law.

The question, though, is when and how soon will they get caught? To nongheads like these, their bragging rights and '15 minutes' would prove to be their downfall and it wouldn't be long before a 'conscience' in that trail steps ups and blows the whistle. Just like what happened to the Werribee DVD nongs.

when we start saying that killing a dog is as bad as killing a human then we need to get a sense of perspective here.

All living things have equal right to exist.

It's HUMANS that say that that we are more important than them - that's OUR 'sense' of perspective. I guess that might be fair enough, but it doesn't mean we're right.

Looking at it from a universal scale, all living creatures are equally entitled to life. From a cockroach to me. If the sun went supernova, we are all in the same boat.

Put it this way, I'd far prefer to save the life of a cockroach than I would a child torturer.

Reminds me of the other night when i got jumped by 4 indigenous youth cowards. When will society stop gutless thugs like these.

Here's another "Prodigy"

Boy, 7, goes on croc feeding rampage

* October 3, 2008 - 12:34PM

The parents of a seven-year-old boy who broke into an Australian outback zoo and fed a string of small animals to its resident crocodile are likely to be sued after police said the boy was too young to be held responsible.

- Zoo animals fed to croc
- Parents 'likely to be sued'
- Boy can't be accountable

A turtle, four western blue tongue lizards, two bearded dragons, two thorny devil lizards and a 1.8 metre adult female Spencer's goanna were fed or led into the jaws of a three-metre, 200kg saltwater crocodile named "Terry".

Security camera footage at the Alice Springs Reptile Centre showed the smiling youngster also bludgeoning to death a small blue tongue lizard and two more thorny devils during a half-hour of breakfast-time havoc last Wednesday.

"The fact a seven-year-old can wreak so much havoc in such a short time, it's unbelievable. In my day he'd get a big boot up the arse," said centre director Rex Neindorf.

"Police found him, but in the Northern Territory here he can't be accountable if he's under 10 years of age."

Neindorf said many of the animals fed to the croc were rare or mature and would be difficult to replace.

The boy was unknown at the centre and had "clammed up" when questioned by police on what sparked the rampage, he said.

Neindorf said he was now looking at suing the parents of the pint-sized terror, who could easily have been taken by Terry himself as he fed the croc from a small landing at his enclosure.

"We'll be looking at suing the parents, who were supposedly in control of him at the time," he said.

Shock over Adelaide Zoo bashing of rarest flamingo

A BLIND flamingo believed to be one of the oldest in the world is in a critical condition after being bashed at Adelaide Zoo.

Four teenagers have been charged after visitors reported an incident to zoo staff that has left the unnamed male greater flamingo, aged about 78, "extremely stressed".
Zoo staff said it appeared to have been beaten.

It was taken to the zoo's animal hospital, where it remained under the close watch of keepers in a critical condition last night. The zoo has reported this morning that the bird is responding well to care and it is hoped he will pull through.

AdelaideNow welcomes comment on this story, but reminds readers that the law does not allow publication of statements that could be considered prejudicial in any future court process.

The animal, which arrived at zoo in the 1930s, shares its enclosure with a Chilean flamingo that arrived in the 1940s.

The pair are one of the most popular and loved zoo exhibits and zoo communications manager Belinda Redman said there were concerns for the welfare of the second bird.

"It's the first night it's spent alone since arriving at the zoo and keepers are very worried about how it will cope," she said.

She described the injured bird as "tame and docile".

"Because it had lived its entire life at the zoo, it wasn't afraid of the public," she said.

"It used to stand quite close to the edge of the exhibit and I guess that was part of its charm.

"It's managed to go 70 years without anything like this occurring and to know that this has happened is just unthinkable."

Police yesterday arrested and charged four teenagers, aged between 17 and 19, from Broadview, Enfield, Payneham and Campbelltown with the aggravated ill-treatment of an animal.

They will appear in the Adelaide Youth Magistrates Court at a later date.

Police have urged any zoo visitors who witnessed the alleged attack to contact BankSA Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

In 2003, the zoo's then acting director, Mark Craig, told The Advertiser the birds had "an extraordinary lifespan for any animal, let alone a bird". "If you look at the way they relate to each other there is a love ethos there – they've only got one good eye between them and they guide each other around," Mr Craig said.

Zoo birdkeeper Nicholas Bishop told The Advertiser that it was impossible to know their precise ages and sexes.

"But I think he is the oldest in the world," Mr Bishop said at the time.

"About 1936 is the last record I can find in the zoo's history book of the greater flamingo arriving at the zoo and we have received international correspondence from other zoos saying they also believe he is the oldest in captivity.

The bird lives on a diet of hard-boiled eggs, whitebait, lettuce, duck pellets and bird seed.

i heard that this morning - i wonder if anyone was there when it happened? and more so if people would have stepped in and stopped these flogs from doing it?
Personally i ain't a violent bloke but i wouldve risked an arse-kicking.....

Of course it is, the same rule applies to the food chain. The more intelligent and cunning species survive and generally make the rules.

I've had a cat for 19 years and a girlfriend for 4 1/2, but if I was forced to choose would I save the cat's life ahead of my girlfriend's? No, of course not, because we see other people as far more important than something we don't truly connect with.

I'm sure most animals would mourn the loss of one of their own more than they would if they lost a person who interacted with them. The human race is the most superior race so if we feel that other human beings are more important than animals, then they're more important than animals.

Of course it's wrong to kill or harm any animal for entertainment purposes, but to compare the life of an animal to the life of most human beings isn't justifiable. As far as a jail sentence goes, I do think anyone that kills or seriously harms an animal for fun should get about 2/3 the jail time of someone who does the same thing to a person, because if you're capable of torturing another living thing of that size then a person could easily be your next target.

Oh man.

A 78 year old flamingo?

People are so ****ed in the head.

Seriously.

Why?

Because they're bored, are unable to achieve anything in life, so this makes them feel like men, despite being nutless.

I personally hope the f*****s who did this get the absolute sh*t beat out of them.

Scum of the earth.

Personally, I'd lock each and every single one of these individuals in a room full of cobra's, tiger snakes etc.
Watch them howl and shit their pants....

"Fight your way out of that, tough c***!"

Bashing a 78-year old flamingo, setting fire to a dog!
FFS - need a bullet in the scon some of these clowns.
Back of the head, execution style - "This is how we do it in the pro's!"

Bla bla bla.

Roos are culled all the time. Animals are slaughtered, often inhumanely so we can have the LUXURY of eating them. Yes, it's a luxury. Meat is far from a nessecity.

I find it disgusting, but the level of outrage is hypocritical if you're a meat eater.
