He is 22 years old - was ok in the VFL (kicked 2 bags of 8 goals as a forward).

He is 197 cm now ... 13 Kilograms heavier (so he is now around the 95 kg mark) than what he was back when he was massacred by Rocca.

and more importantly .. after just 31 games - he's eligible for the rookie list.

Would you be against rookie listing him, to bolster our attack and defence?

Don't think it's a horrible idea to rookie list him, i'd be inclined to give him another opportunity.

In a word NO . I think we should use the spot that he would take on the rookie list for another kid. I can see where you are coming from though and he may of improved but i would rather go with kids at this stage.

Knowing that Zac Dawson (Zac DAWSON!) is on your list would be a heavy burden to bear, but a 197cm and 95kg 22 year old who's kicked 2 bags of 8 goals at VFL level does sound very enticing.

Judging by the crowd reaction when Fisher lines up for goal, I wouldn't be surprised to see burning effigies of Austin if he kicks at sitting on 0.5 at AFL level.

That one game on Rocca shouldn't be the reason for people to say no - he was young, and should have never been in that situation in the first place. Disgraceful coaching.

Or maybe it was a rainy day and goals were hard to come by and he was moved forward and managed 3 in a quarter or something like that?

He is unlucky to be known as that guy who got a few kicked on him. Paddy Ryder had more kicked on him (including mroe bags) in his first season compared to Dawson. Difference is, the misfortune of Hawthorn sells papers (always has).

Dawson is a great bloke, but a depth player. He doesnt have the strength to be a a key forward, but had learnt to take bigger forwards (he did towel up Fev pre-season haha

Those stats were for Austin, not Dawson.

I'm cool with him. Is he the one with the 'fro? Because if he was on our list and we got Bower to get his afro back, we'd totally rock the Footy Show player revue.

We have taken bigger stabs in the dark than this. If he's heavier then when he was playing AFL I wouldn't look past rookie listing him for sure.

If he is physically late maturing then we might have picked a winner here.

He was played when he was nowhere near ready for AFL so thoughts must have been high for him.
