Isn’t he from Bacchus Marsh? Should be fine. Where does Bevo play him out of the square I presume on the oppos most dangerous forward?😉
Defensive personnel is not our issue. Highest rated defence in the comp last year

Welcome Zak Butters.

Not sure how to reply to that…
Did you think I believe Butters is a defender? Did you not see the winking emoji to indicate it was a joke about Bevo playing people out of position? And what does your defensive rating last year have to do with anything?

Go to bed. Welcome to the Kennel Zak

Mid, and Bont goes to CHB.

Instant mega upgrade in defence.
Probably give Bont an extra year or two in the game, actually.

Zak Butters might add what is missing in the dogs midfield. Which is a chaos element. Many of the dogs mids play safe except Libba.

The level of denial is off the scale. This year you're ranked 1st for attack, 10th for defence. I don't think chaos is the missing element, and I don't believe that last year's ratings are redeemable for premiership points in 2025.

Defence is undoubtedly an area of improvement. But in my opinion it’s not a personnel issue. Bulldogs can chase Zak and improve defensive game-plan over the off season, especially when as recently as last year the defence was top notch.

Port’s gonna have to do something if they wanna get NAS.

What’s better, hold Butters for a year, don’t have the cattle to get NAS, risk losing him in 2026. Or have the conversation about the move this year?

We have our 2026,2027 f1 picks for nas

that can be the basis of a trade, we dont need to sell butters.

Why would we sell our most talented player since robbie gray when we dont have to?

he has shown no indication he wants out, its purely vic media baracking for it.

This years + next years first throw in a role player like Williams from SA + maybe a 2nd or something along those lines
What do u dogs fans value Jed Buss as out of curiosity?

end of first round pick equivalent?

Yeah probably in that 16-25 range
Why didnt bevo play him when Lobb was your one true key position defender?

Surely one of Buss or jones are needed alonglide Lobb at all times

O'donnel strikes me as more your 3rd tall intercepting player

Buss also isn't quite the Fb Jones type and is closer to an O'Donnell type currently but less athletic

I think he probably plays again this week

If he was wanted in this deal though I would happily throw him in as the "steak knives" player shows enough potential

Butters to the Kennel it is.
Personally don't mind it just as long as we get Reid :)
I have no idea where Reid will go, but based on best fit i would say Hawthorn.

But knowing Geelong's strengths of acquiring star players, he will probs end up there.

Why would Hawthorn be the best fit when they have extractors like Newcombe and Day and a batch of forwards who float through midfield?
Geelong have one decent inside midfielder, a star outsider (Holmes) and a host of plodders trying to compliment those two.
Actually yeah, i agree with you.

Day is injury prone and Newcombe is really not the dominant A grader they need

Falls away sharply after that. Ward, McKenzie etc.. are likely to be decent mids but not stars (IMO)

I think it makes sense why they are chasing so hard.

He walks into that team as the best player, by a considerable margin
