Yeah Brock owes us money because we cheated the system

Logic

We didn't cheat the system, we played guys out of position. You can do that for development.

Logic

We didn't cheat the system, we did nothing resembling cheating.

That investigation was a result of that campaigners comments and subsequently put the club back in debt because he's a bitter tool as evident through his comments regarding Carlton giving him the arse.

Jebus, it was a PR campaign to make it look like the AFL cared about tanking so people would stop talking about it. We got to be the pseudo scapegoat because the AFL already wanted to take over the club and turf the idiots in charge. They got to fix two issues hurting the brand at once. We didn't even pay the ******* fine! Best thing to have happened to the club in years.

Has anyone got a decent knowledge on him?

Any 21 y/o midfielder who rejects a contract from Port must be worth s look for us.
He'll definitely be looked at but he has to enter the ND first as he delisted himself so no DFA scenario.

Paul Johnson has really looked the goods at full back lately

We just played Frawley at full forward for an entire season - we must be due for another fine. Where do you draw the line? Johnson would make a better fullback than ruckman.

Also, lots of our players in recent years have probably been much better at things other than football.

We should count ourselves fortunate that we haven't been getting fined annually for tanking, based on us fielding hacks.

Teams purposely rest players a weeks out in finals, that's not exactly going out there to win. Take freo for example, took half a team down to Launceston got flogged by 20 goals by Hawthorn. 2 weeks later in the elimination freo beat hawks br 5 goals. It's all team management the players try the best.

Even if Tapscott drops down to the rookie list, I still think Evans will be lucky to ride this period out. Wouldn't cost much to pay the extra year on his contract.

Should be looking at Hunt, Newton, Logan, McKernan - must be value somewhere.

Also, this article again.

This same rubbish is written by a different idiot every few months and is always sub-headed with "Dees fans - look away now!"
It's basically a best 22 of the draft

You could use that for any club almost
Would have posted this on main board but as kicking the proverbial dead horse seems to have bored them, there's no thread there, so here is as relevant as anywhere else. What could have been if poor Hawthorn's 2014 team to face the lowly Swans in September had been well, a lot better than the s**t one that was put out:

Luke Hodge (2001): Chris Judd
Sam Mitchell (2001): Ablett! (Ok, cheating - Dane Swan)
Will Langford Brad Sewell (2002): Nick Maxwell
Jarryd Roughead (2004): Ryan Griffen
Jack Gunston Lance Franklin (2004): Angus Monfries
Jordan Lewis (2004): Nathan van Berlo
Brian Lake Tom Murphy (2004): Mark Le Cras
David Hale Beau Dowler (2005): Patrick Ryder
Grant Birchall (2005): Andrew Swallow
Josh Gibson Beau Muston (2005): Joel Patfull
Shaun Burgoyne Mitch Thorp (2006): Josh Kennedy (no wait, *oops* they already picked him - Joel Selwood)
Matt Suckling (2006): Jarrod Harbrow
Cyril Rioli (2007): Harry Taylor
Matt Spangher Ryan Schoenmakers (2008): Dayne Beams
Liam Shiels (2008): Rory Sloane
Luke Breust (2008): Sam Jacobs
Ben Stratton (2009): Dylan Roberton
Taylor Duryea (2009): Matt Maguire
Isaac Smith (2010): Jack Darling
Paul Puopolo (2010): Paul Seedsman
Brad Hill (2011): Jordan Murdoch
Ben McEvoy Shane Savage P18 2013: Luke Dunstan

Couldn't be as neat as possible but anyway, which leads to:

FB: Patfull, Maxwell, Seedsman
HB: Harbrow, Taylor, A.Swallow
C: Griffen, Swan, Sloane
HF: Monfries, Ryder, Beams
FF: Murdoch, Darling, Le Cras
R: Jacobs, Selwood, Judd
I: Van Berlo, Maguire, Dunstan
S: Roberton

Oh poor Hawthorn, they could have overrun Swans so easily had they just had this side! Super-team midfield, elite backmen, and a strong forward line - and token "spud" sub :p

So yeah. You can do this with every team. Tabloid trash.

You missed a couple of decent ones;

Sam Grimley (39) - Allen Christenson (40)
Mitch Hallahan (38) - Luke Parker (40)
Ryan Shoenmakers (16) - Luke Shuey (18)
Alex Litherland (55) - Alex Johnson (57)

Hopeless article.

Your point still stands - but Hawthorns actual side would probably still beat the 'couldvebeens' you have there!
