If this Brisbane/Beams stuf is true how about:

Brisbane:
In - Beams
Out - Pick 4, Leuenberger

GWS:
In: - Leuenberger
Out - 1 of: Coniglio, Shiel, Smith, Treloar, Hoskin-Elliot

Collingwood:
In - Pick 4, 1 of Coniglio, Shiel, Smith, Treloar, Hoskin-Elliot
Out - Beams

GWS aren't giving up one of those gun kids for Leuenberger...

Fair enough, would throwing something else to GWS help?

Carlton gave westcoast (No. 3 and 20) and josh-k for judd

Why would GWS want Luenberger when they have Mumford, Giles, Phillips, Downie, Lobb and Patton, Boyd and Stewart that can help out?

Fair enough, didn't realise they had that many that can help out in the ruck.

Mumford is getting on, Giles is also ageing, the rest are not true rucks. They need someone around 23 to 26 to fill the hole.

But they are not stupid and Leuenberger is not good enough due to injury to generate a trade for a gun young mid. It would have to be one of their second stringer mids who are struggling for game time.

Thanks, who would they be? (2nd stringers) Not across the GWS list.

Luenburger is 26

Mummy is 28
Giles is 26 (5 months older than LBurger)
Downie and Phillips are "true rucks" aren't they?

Really..?
Leuenberger has played 28 games in the last 3 years. Extremely injury prone. I would not be comfortable with that deal.
What is this, the Collingwood Superannuation Scheme? We don't want any more run down, tired old has-beens. If we can't recruit a ruckman that can offer up something extraordinary, why even look at him? Witts is going well, and Grundy is just hanging in there. They're both young guys who have plenty of improvement ahead of them. We don't want another Lynch type import, that results on one of these guys leaving like Dawes did.

Wouldn't mind rookie listing Polkinghorne and giving him another crack. He's only 25.

To put it in perspective. His best season he averaged 16 touches and 3.8 tackles a game, kicked 14 goals in 2011.

Jarryd Blair this year has averaged 15 touches, 5.6 tackles a game and kicked 12 goals.

He's 9cm taller than Blair.

Maybe a change of scenery is just what Polkinghorne needs.

You'd want to know why he hasn't been playing but it's worth consideration.

With Caff and Scharenberg long odds to play 2015 we might need rookies of a mature age who can step in.

If beams left it would be the dumbest thing buckelys ever done.
He's been our best player this year by miles. According to afl tracker, hes a chane of the brownlow. Give all that up for a kid with no afl experience?
We literally have to do anything we can to keep him. We have a ton of others to trade before him. No matter what deal, don't trade beams. I would much rather see cloke go than see beams leave. He's just as important as pendles.

We don't need Leuenbrger and both GWS and GC need a ruckman so on trade him for a mid? Pock 4 and a decent mid? I would hate to lose Beams but we do have guys like Adams, Thomas and Freeman who may be able to cover some of his output. We desperately need to improve the depth of our midfield and bring in some guys with real run and carry and elite foot skills.
Yeah I would do the deal if another club was keen on Leunenberger for a decent pick

They are not long odds they will play. They were injured mid august with an 8 month recovery time 8-9 months they will be good to go between round 2-6

All this speculation about the club trading out Beams calls for the only sensible response ....... AS IF!

No way, no chance, no how - ain't gonna happen.

I would be pretty confident Beams would never be offered up for trade, but there is every chance he may of requested it. I know someone that had a lengthy conversation with him when Buckley first took over as coach and Beams wasn't happy about it (you'd hope the situation has improved). IF he has requested a trade there's not much the club can do, you can't keep a disgruntled player.

With the rumours that Paddy Ryder has requested a trade to Brisbane are true, maybe Leuenberger has been offered up for trade..?

Anyways.. the silly season has begun. Strap yourselves in!

Please, please, please dont recruit anything other than a Hudson type ruckman CFC.

We would end up having the exact same situation as West Coast had this year with Cox, Nicnat and Lycett, except that Luenberger(going by age) has another 5+ years in the comp.

One of Grundy and Witts would request a trade, because of Luenberger, a ruckman we never needed to recruit, would be taking there spot and there games(that games we need to give them for development and experience) in the side. And to finish off, Berger is one of the most injury prone players in the league.

Hey Brisbane, if Beams does end up getting traded, Pick 4 and young gun(Aish or Mayes or some other young gun) or GTFO, gotta give up quality to get quality.

If Beams wants to go to Brisbane (I don't believe this personally) and they are willing to trade a player + pick 4, then I want Mayes, not Leuenberger.

Yeh sounds good, then on trade picks 4 and 8 to saints for pick 1 and 19. We get petracca moore and another kid in the 2nd round plus mayes.

Wouldnt trade beams unless he wanted to definately go, and i hav no idea what he is thinking.
