2015 Free Agents, worth a look?

Adcock stepped down as Brisbanes captain. Would be a pretty handy pickup if he made himself available.

Jack Steven for me. Think he has had some injuries.
Gunna be hard to find players to delist this year.
Would look at trading for Hoskin- Elliot.

I'd say McMahon, Harper, McKenzie, Daw, Currie, Jacobs would all be playing for their careers this year, Firrito might look at hanging up the boots depending on how the season plays out.

Thing is with daw, our two most potent forwards are the wrong side of 30. It won't be Daws last season. The rest I'm not so sure about. McKenzie must improve, still hoping for that slow burner scenario to play out, needs to add way more strings to his bow.

In regards to the discussion above about who will we delist, too early to speculate but I'd be confident McMahon will be delisted and maybe Firrito, Grima and Petrie retiring which could cover all the outs for the year and free up salary cap space to target a good player.

expect most if not all the young players under 23 to get new contracts with us phasing out older players instead

If Harper and Mckenzie fail to have an impact this year then add them to the list.

Nahas and Warren likely to go as well.

With Petrie, Harvey, Waite maybe gone next year. Firrito may go another year if playing well. And Grima may go another year to get up to 100 games. Might be a big group go at once. NDS & Wells year after.
So don't want to give up on the younger players too early.

Currie - still need a solid back up for Goldy
McMahon- would be sad to him go
Harper- if went ok this year, would he get pushed out still?
Jacobs- still handy player to delist. Looking good in NAB
McKenzie- showing signs in NAB
Daw- still handy replacement for Petrie
Firrito- May go again if playing well
Grima- wait and see

I see it may be hard to bring in a F/A and find enough to delist, with rookie elevation as well.

I think that's a pretty fair assessment but that's eight blokes which is a pretty big turnover which they seem reluctant to do. I imagine a lot will depend on who they think they can pick up, where they want to retain depth even if it's not first choice and whether the young guys at least show signs of improving.

With the quality of our list at the moment, I think most of the list changes will be coming from retirements in the coming years. As things stand, Loose and Narni would be logical retirements at the end of the year. The possible delistings would be Currie (if Preuss comes along well), Harper (if things don't come together), Tarrant (if his body fails him). We may face a Greenwood scenario or two. But I like the way the club is just focussing on 1st and 2nd round picks at the draft. If we only have 2-3 picks, plus the odd free agent or trade, we don't actually need large turnovers of players.

Didn't he sign in last couple of weeks or am I confused with Geary?

I thought I heard that JS had re-signed also Harro.

There was a bit of talk about him being all but signed up in February, but so far nothing officially has happened.

I listed six or so guys and we might have a retirment or two on top of that - we only need to make three changes at minimum and I think out of that lot we will probably be able to find our three. Daw I agree probably not, though depending on how his court case plays out we might be forced to reevaluate that. McKenzie I hope can improve this year too but I think he's definitely under threat at this point.

Petrie has said adamantly that he wants to play on, unless something goes disastrously wrong for him this year I don't think he'll retire. Spud and Narni will probably have to see on how the year goes. Spud in particular might find himself pushed out now that J-Mac is back and Grima obviously has a long way to come back from his injury - though it's not like he's never come back from an injury before. I wouldn't write off any of the three just yet.

Collingwood and Geelong appear to be the front runners for his services, but he's not going to win a flag at either of those clubs. And with the uncertainty surrounding Bucks future you would think he's had enough of coaching instability. We may not be able to offer the most money but a shot at a flag and great club culture would be high on his list of wants. He certainly wouldn't get the attention he'd attract at the Pies. I'm sure someone from the club has started making calls to his manager.

I think he is the type of guy that actually likes attention.

We should have our eyes on the abundant GWS midfielders in the next 2-3 years. Some more will surely be looking to get out at the same time as out older mids look to walk away.
