Bengals with 61st pick select Zach Charbonnet RB UCLA

With Joe Mixon in trouble with law again its time for Bengals to move on and draft his replacement. Charbonnet is a rocked-up back with very good size and strength. He is a downhill runner who displays excellent vision and patience when pressing the line of scrimmage. Charbonnet is at his best when working north/south and he is able to put his foot down and hit the hole with a full head of steam, as he is a powerful runner who is a build-to-speed player in the open field. He has outstanding contact balance and arm tackle-breaking ability as he has such a strong lower body. For a bigger back, Charbonnet has a knack for making defenders miss as he is a patient runner who understands how to set up defenders with calculated and decisive cuts while not losing any of his acceleration. While Charbonnet may not be the type of player you want to flex out in the slot and isolate as a receiver, his hands, and pass-catching ability are more than serviceable and there is no reason he can’t be a three-down back.

Chicago Bears with 62nd pick select Keeanu Benton - DT Wisconsin

None of the Edge prospected i wanted last to this pick went the 3 picks before this one. Need to improve the DL line so went with best DL prospect left.
Keeanu Benton is one of the best run-stuffing nose tackles in college football and this draft class. One of the more impactful players on the Badgers’ defense, Benton is an unmovable force for interior offensive linemen to deal with. He’s a stout presence that holds up with a strong anchor at the point of attack and flashes the ability to reset the line of scrimmage. Has great size and strength.

Pretty sure I havent seen him selected yet? Correct me if im wrong

With pick 64 the Chiefs select Jared Verse, Edge, FSU

Verse is one of the biggest risers in the entire 2023 draft class. He transferred from Albany to Florida State this past offseason and took his game to another level entirely. In fact, Verse earned a higher pass-rushing grade this season against FBS competition (85.7) than he did last year against FCS foes (83.9). It would have been even higher were it not for an ankle injury that nagged him all year and limited him to only 360 snaps this year. Flip on the LSU tape (seven pressures) and Florida tape (five pressures), though, and you’ll see perfectly well what Verse is capable of.

He translates an explosive first step into an explosive strike into contact. His bull-rush and push-pull moves are deadly when executed correctly. While he has a tendency to get a bit out of control, it’s because he’s giving maximum effort to get to ball carriers.

The Chicago Bears select with 65th pick ADETOMIWA ADEBAWORE DE Northwestern

The Texans select:

Emmanuel Forbes, CB, Mississippi St.

1243828274.0.jpg

The great thing about drafting for the Texans, is looking at each position group, you think 'eh, they could use some help there' for every one of them... they have a lot of adequate players, so BPA is pretty much the go.

Forbes has some great tools to work with, long arms, blazing speed and elite man-coverage skills. 6/14 college career INTs went back the other way for TDs. Is on the lighter side, so needs to put a bit of bulk on to not be a liability in one-on-one tackling situations. Still, could be a good painring with Stingley.

The Arizona Cardinals select Henry To'oTo'o - LB - Alabama

Henry-Too-Too-1.jpg

The Cardinals need a lot of help on defence and in particular have a need for a linebacker to help strengthen the run defence. To'oTo'o was one of a number of linebackers being considered at this point in the draft and he separated himself through his football intelligence. To'oTo'o started at middle linebacker for the Volunteers in his first season of college football and accumulated 72 tackles. In his second season with the Vols, he earned another 76 tackles and was named Second-Team All-SEC. After 2020, he transferred to Alabama and earned another Second-Team All-SEC mention in 2021 with 113 total tackles. In 2022, before declaring for the draft, To'oTo'o earned First-Team All-SEC with 94 total tackles.

The tape suggests that To'oTo'o is a smart, instinctive, physical middle linebacker who will produce consistently as a tackler. Unlike many other linebackers in consideration for this pick, To'oTo'o doesn't miss too many tackles, and he has strong lateral movement with great speed. He is a terrific communicator with his teammates and often takes control of a defence and get people lined up in the right spots in the defensive formation. He was trusted by both the Volunteers and the Crimson Tide to run the defence and that type of leadership will be highly prized by the Cardinals.

To'oTo'o will need to work on breaking down blocks as he does tend to get caught up by blocking tight ends and offensive linemen who make it to the second level. That will negate his capacity to affect plays unless he develops the technique to shed blocks on a consistent basis. However, pending how the rest of the draft and pre-season play out, the Cardinals are happy to pencil him in as their starting middle linebacker for the forthcoming season.

I think it's catters078 on the clock

With the first of Back to Back picks the Denver Broncos select Derick Hall, Edge, Auburn

Sean Payton loves his Edge rushers and depth from the edge so adding the powerful Hall is a great add.

Had 8 sacks last season and was All Sec.

Picking again now.

With Pick 69 the Denver Broncos select Cody Mauch, OT, North Dakota State

While the Broncos have had a good off-season improving their O line, they need to double down at the draft.

Mauch was a rising talent this year at left tackleand could go in the 2nd round. Standing 6`6 300 pounds, could add a little weight and strength, but has great athleticism

Projects to be a starting guard at the next level.

With pick 70 the LA Rams :nflrams: select -

Tucker Kraft TE South Dekota State

With Tyler Higbee entering his final season under contract the Rams would be wise to look at a TE in this draft. Following in the steps of another Jackrabbit, (Dallas Goedert), would be a great outcome for the Rams in the 3rd round of the draft.
Kraft lines up all across the formation—with snaps in-line, in the slot, and outside—and is relied upon heavily both in the run and passing game. He is an excellent athlete for his size, showcasing good speed, fluidity, and short-area quickness.

With the 71st pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders select DJ Turner, cornerback, Michigan.

GettyImages-1437622908_DJ_Turner_Michigan_Aaron_Thornton_Getty_Images.jpg

The selection of Turner is a throwback to the late Al Davis given his 4.26 40 time at the Combine. Whilst Turner only had three interceptions in college he had 20 pass deflections in the final two years of his collegiate career. Turner has extensive experience in a man to man scheme fitting defensive coordinator Patrick Graham's scheme - so he should be able to contribute relatively quickly to a Raiders pass defence which has been porous for many years. The biggest question mark is whether Turner's small-ish frame will be able to compete physically against bigger corners on the outside. If all else fails on the outside he should have a solid career as a nickel corner where he can use his speed and agility to handle the more shifty type of receivers between the numbers.

bgt2110 and the New Orleans Saints are now on the clock.

With pick 72 the New Orleans Saints :nflsaints: select -

Devon Achane RB Texas A&M

The saints recently hosted Devon giving them a good look at a versatile player who could make an impact on multiple phases of the game. Achane was mainly used as a runner at Texas A&M but he did well as a receiver and pass protector on small sample sizes. Despite his slighter frame, the Saints need more depth at running back, he’s a good fit behind Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams, especially if Kamara is looking at any kind of suspension.

The Tennessee Titans select Byron Young, Edge, Tennesse.

Some more depth on the edge. Versatile athlete who can play multiple positions and can get to the QB.

Was a coaches selection All Sec 1st team Defense (2 d team AP). Registered 20 QB hurries and 7 sacks this year.

Pick . # 77 New England :nflpatriots: Select.

Cedric Tillman WR . Tennessee

images.jpg

A big wide out with size and skill, a competitive beast who come from good AFL bloodlines.
Has a hunger for the contest and has a wide catching radius and strong hands.
His senior year was impacted with injury, particularly a high ankle sprain that impacted his effectiveness.
Could be a boom or bust pick, but he does bring a WR point of difference to the list.

The Patriots need help in many areas and WR is one of the, therefore Tillman ticks a needs box.
