I wouldn't think so.
There's confirmation bias from people such as myself who thought it was a bad move, but its also very limited data to go from. I expect selectors will see it through until at least the start of next summer.

I agree this is what will happen. So we will go into a series against a top class Indian bowling attack with a new opener with no recent Test experience, and with Smith dropping back to 4 with no indication whether that will fix his apparent decline. No one will be celebrating opposition victories next year, we will be wondering where our own next win is coming from.
