If he is batting lower in the order, Smith is a much better option/finisher than Forrest.
How many do Watson/Warner need to score between them for us to be a chance? A fair whack of them you have to think.

Nice catch from Warner at the end, not that it mattered much.

It kinda looks like one of those games where Australia will be there or thereabouts but will lose wickets too regularly to actually be in control. Poms did well in those early soggy overs to not lose wickets.

Had to laugh at the commentators saying that Anderson looks to be struggling with injury and then the next ball he rips through Bailey with a pearler to bowl him and then bowls another great delivery to get Warner caught behind.

Jeez, it was fun sitting there watching our brilliant death bowlers bowling half-volleys and good length balls. I give up. It doesn't matter who bowls in the late overs for us. They all just pop it up there saying hit me.
Morgan is bloody good to watch though when he tees off. I thought Cummins did well early. it will do him the world of good to bowl at batsmen with good techniques.

It's a real shame, I like Bailey a lot but I still haven't really worked out how he has made his way to skipper of the T20 team and into the one day team. Good luck to him, but you know, it doesn't make a lot of sense.

Makes far more sense than Steve Smith. Looks like D Hussey was channeling his mate Cam White soaking up a lot of balls not scoring and then getting out.

We were in a position to get the runs but blew it. We weren't disgraced b any means.
Exactly.....4 specialist bowlers plus Watson plus Hussey means Smith barely bowls, and if he's not bowling he's not one of the top 6 batsmen in the country. Forrest or even Callum Ferguson would be better.....God forbid even Cameron White would get a gig ahead of Smith.....
Off state form, Smith probably deserves to be in the squad for his batting alone, but it is true- he's yet to make one "International Standard Performance" for Australia.

Well there isn't much batting around the country TBH. I'd prefer to see someone like Maxwell at 7 because he can do it all. Smith has talent but he just hasn't done anything yet.

Thought cummins was incredibly average last night. I can't see why he is in the team. Has no form behind him, took a bunch of wickets in a crap format (T20 - Aka.. Batsmen trying to hit out != good wickets). Has never looked anything more than a state bowler yet he's playing for Aus? Come on selectors, there are a better bunch of Aussie bowlers not playing.
