Eddie? Maybe he left and then came back on a pseudo name artificially increasing the population. Maybe that's why desoite everyon leaving Melbourne in droves but the population has surpassed Sydney, it's all made up! Dan is lying, again!
He’s still around in the cricket threads.

10 days since Dan canned the Games and he hasn’t provided a skerrick of evidence of the $4B cost blow out! Wouldn’t you think he has a duty to explain to CGA so that CGA can evaluate alternative plans?

How many?

It's good policy. Gas cookers are an unhealthy carbon monoxide emiter within homes and gas prices are outrageous.

Reducing consumer demand pressures will plausibly influence wholesale prices which could benefit Victorian industry.

You are kidding right?

We can’t just instantly transfer 1,000’s of plumbers into licensed electricians and there’s already a skills shortage.

Other Australian companies like Jetmaster will be ****ed…

I spoke to one of the states largest plumbing contractors, he’s talking 20-25% cut once the laws come in. That’s 70-80 jobs there in a single company.

Now for the policy itself.

What do you think electricity prices are going to do with the massive additional demand?

Are we building more coal fired power stations? No, we are shutting them.

Andrew’s hilariously brought up induction cook tops yesterday, whilst they are fantastic they are about 5 x the price of a gas cooktop, not to mention they require mostly dedicated 25amp+ circuits and potentially might require you to upgrade your supply to the grid on existing homes.

But you save $1000 a year off the CURRENT bill.

What about gas ducted heating?

What about pool and spa heaters, majority of which are gas?

Hydronic heaters are most cost effective in gas.

No more gas fireplaces.

Can’t even hard plumb a gas BBQ in a home.

Absolute madness.

This is only going to massively increase the cost of living for the average Australian, oh and leave thousands of skilled workers out of work….

Plumber or gas lobbyist?

Claiming commercial confidence or that it's on water matters has been good enough for the press to back off in the past.

Commercial in confidence in respect to who? The governing bodies, CGF and CGA? I’m not talking about exit penalties, but the cost of running the event.

And water matters?

Neither mate, aren’t you a leftist?

In fact I’m going to make a hell of a lot of money from Dans policy. The tax payer and average consumer is going to get shafted though. It doesn’t make it smart policy though.

Its just logic though isn’t it?

Plumbing Union went nuclear yesterday, might be trouble in paradise for Dan finally with his closest Allie’s turning on him.

Gasfitting is only a small part of plumbing. Heaps of other plumbing work they can do.

Suspect there is a deal going on with the federal government along the lines of "cancel these projects or we won't be there to bail you out". This will come at the end of the Albanese tenure and ideally is not public.

If we kept the low interest rate environment I think Dan's legacy would have been cemented as one of the great visionaries for all the projects completed during his time. So often though it's the environment that will dictate legacy, and I think Dan might be in trouble on that front. We can no longer grow our way out of our problems and the purse strings are being well and truly tightened - tough times ahead.

Did you read that on Twitter? An individual solely qualified as a licensed gas fitter can’t offer plumbing services

I guess it’s no different to someone who’s worked as a logger all their working lives. Tough s**t?

Heaps of plumbers don't even bother getting their gasfitting license. That's how essential it is to them lol

And yet it’s about 20% of the plumbing work on most projects

Domestic development approvals are down 80%.

Boneheaded timing yet again.

It’s work you can’t replace. You don’t just go and do other plumbing work if there’s no work to go around.

20-25% of plumbers out of work when this goes through imo.

Considering there aren't enough plumbers, I'm sure they'll find some work

Always the argument that comes out in defence of fossil fuels isn't it.

People will lose their jobs.

It's literally the only defence they have against the change.

It's not like it's the end of gas plumbing, it's just the end of its growth in the residential market in Victoria.

As to Sttew complete lie about the end of logging in Victoria......
