Links to 6PR interview with Brad Lloyd tonight is the first link.

I've also included Craig Vozzo's interview as a second link as he acknowledged the difficulties for both teams trying to attract the best talent on trade when the players are presented with many attractive options (and moving over here and dealing with the travel obviously is an obstacle for many and has been for a long time he says).

It actually the same as the Geeling statement. It is meant for Geelong. The (as it Barrett misinformed and incorrect) statement re Freo is lost in the ether.

Thanks. Now that makes sense. If he spits it, maybe the uncontracted Kersten ups and leaves and someone will pick him up for nothing in the Pre Season draft?

If the "I had a conversation with his brother's dog" reports are on the money, it won't be us.

Good choice of spelling. Barrett only makes sense when you're on ether.

The proof-readers at The West Australian mustn't work weekends or something. There's an article about our new training centre at Cockburn being at the named bidder stage. Somehow they've got to squeeze in a reference to West Coast, even if it's really only about Freo, so we get this one paragraph of gibberish tacked on the end of the article:

West Coast recently committed to a 99-year lease with the Town of Victoria Park and are hoping to draw government funding for a $60 million administration and training base at Lathlain Park, which would also include new facilities for the Perth Football Club. DID YOU KNOW 4 The number of companies that have been invited to tender for the Dockers' new headquarters

I kid you not.

Plenty enough to disagree with and get defensive about in this punter's article, but I thought the comments below were interesting.

"Are Freo making a mistake by not playing hard-ball, not chasing players in the style of the Hawthorns and Sydneys of the AFL?
Maybe, but by no means are Fremantle out of the Premiership race. The Dockers played at their brilliant best when they defeated the Hawks at Paterson’s Stadium in Round 21, so there is an argument to make that Freo’s problem is not their list, but their inconsistency. When all players perform to their peaks, as was the case in the Round 21 game and the majority of the 2013 season, the Dockers are a genuine Premiership threat. Ross Lyon continues to show tremendous faith in this list for good reason. His game-plan relies on team effort rather than individual performance, which explains the cautious approach to the trade scene."

I do think we were more inconsistent this year - injury did not help down back at the end of the year particularly, but early on when we were healthy, we just did not play to our best for long enough this season.

Interesting that he thinks our team first vs. individual focus is reason for our cautious approach to trading. From Bond and Lloyd's public comments, I think it's a combination of a sustainable model (hence the desire to retain draft picks) and strong retention within the current list (I think they refer to it as not 'selling the farm').

How good is Balthazar in the comments section, better read than the actual article.

First comment was good, but overall, s**t article is very s**t.

I saw this article last night comparing Cup Horses to AFL Teams. Having just watched Red Cadeaux do the bridesmaid thing again, I hope it's not an omen of what's to come for us in 2015....

FREMANTLE — Red Cadeaux
Well travelled stayer who’s fallen just short of the mark on two occasions ... getting a bit old in the tooth, which doesn’t help his chances.
