Still have to worry a fair bit about %'s though.

But as this is the optimistic thread, we will roll GC, beat Freo and all results to go our way and bam, we are in

Well, IF all goes our way with the Northern Kangaroos losing tomorrow and the next 2 weeks... AND geelong dropping another game - we will know EXACTLY the margin that we will need to beat Freo by in rd23 to snag 8th spot!!!

For us to make through finals, we need the following results:

1) Us to beat GC (ideally by a large margin to overtake Geelong and North on %) next week
2) Us to beat Fremantle (r23)
3) North to lose to Fremantle today (Sunday)
4) North to lose to the Bulldogs next week
5) North to lose to Richmond in r23
6) Geelong to lose one or both of their remaining matches against Collingwood or Crows.

It's very reliant on North's results but it's mildly possible

Geelong drawing to St. Kilda has just opened the door for us. I believe we can sneak into the 8. Optimism is at a dangerously high level. We need results to fall our way, but there's a chance. And we have to take it.

Imagine if we won the flag from 8th? It all would've started from that upset win over the Hawks this weekend. Wouldn't that be something special?

Here's what will happen.

- North will lose all three of their remaining games
- Geelong will thump Collingwood next week
- We'll beat GC17 and WA16 by a combined 471 points to render Geelong's percentage irrelevant
- Adelaide will dominate all day at the Cattery only to concede the last 9 goals to lose by a point

Cue 7 days of KARMA FOR 2013 WHEN YOU ROBBED US OF FINISHING 9TH* (despite North Melbourne having a higher %)

Adelaide to then get annihilated on a far away field because umpires despite the free kick count being 23-14 in their favour.

No Tribey, you're doing it wrong. This is the optimism thread. Everything will be okay.

But now that you mention it, the Crows could totally throw the game so we miss the 8. o_O

I love the way you guys think, Norths percentage might just be our biggest hurdle. Plus the doggies coming back from Perth might be a bit sluggish against them. We have hope though
