The Hawks are on the road this round with a game against the much-hated Bombers. Here's a chance to remind all the Bomber supporters that their senior club is once again under the spotlight! The Hawks dropped a game that they perhaps could have won last week, with some inaccurate kicking for goal costing the Hawks. Poor Dallas Willsmore had an opportunity to tie the game after the siren with a difficult shot at goal but unfortunately missed, giving the Tigers a five point victory.
Having already enjoyed a bye this season, the Hawks (at 2-1) are currently fourth on percentage, with Williamstown and Werribee a game clear on top of the ladder. But this early in the season, there is no time for any complacency, as teams from Richmond (third) down to Collingwood (12th) all have two wins for the season so far. The Hawks' opponent, Essendon, sits sixth at the moment on the ladder.
So the Hawks have an early season opportunity to shape their destiny with a victory over the Bombers. Please note the early start time if you are keen on attending the game and/or wanting to listen to live coverage provided by 3WBC 94.1FM (also at www.3wbc.org.au and via the TuneIn app on your favourite smart device).
The Development Squad are also on the road this round, with a trip to Preston City Oval on Sunday to play the Northern Blues.
Stay tuned for team news and much much more.
