just thought we might try and do our own club injury list, because if you look on the official swans website the only list you will get is round 21 last year.
our website is pathetic, maybe we should all start ringing the club to complain.

This could be our list as of now.

Thornton season
Malceski season ?
Fosdike knee 4 weeks
Laidlaw knee 4 weeks
Everitt knee 4 weeks
Playfair hamstring/ indefinite
Crouch hamstring ,who would know
Ablett groin ?
Richards ?
Schmitt ?
Vezspremi ?

the last three who would know.as members we deserve better than this

Spot on there Bedford. Big footy is probable one of the best ways to find out about our club as YES the swans website is a joke.

I happened to be in the vicinity of Moore Park on Wednesday afternoon and noticed the boys out training on the oval so stopped by for a short time to watch.

Laidlaw was participating with the main group doing full contact training so one can reasonable presume he's on the way back from his knee injury. Vezspremi was with this group too.

I think Schmidt was with the other group doing non-contact work - mostly some very strange looking kicking. Hall, Brennan, Jack, O'Loughlin, Jolly and Barlow were also with this group.

I don't recall seeing Ablett, Playfair, Crouch, Everitt or Fosdike with either group - but Fosdike apparently had knee surgery on Monday so he's probably a few weeks away yet.

Off topic of injury but maybe still of interest, I got my first glimpse of Murphy with ball in hand. He looked like he was suffering from a bit of a sore knee - he was limping slightly at one point and then clutched it, before consulting with Kennelly and then a trainer. But moments later he was back participating in the full drills. This bloke can run - seriously run for a guy that size. We've heard the tails of him in the time trials but endurance over 3kms isn't the same as footspeed. He looks seriously quick as well as fast. Obviously not Davey-quick but I reckon he'd leave Goodes in his wake. And Goodes is pretty darned speedy for a bloke his size. He also looked extremely fluent kicking the ball - more fluent than Kennelly looked when he made his AFL debut (and he's improved significantly since then). Once when he was running and taking a bounce it did the rabbit on him (but moments later the same thing happened to Kennelly too). But overall he looks like he's picking up the basic skills pretty quickly. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it all translates into a game situation when the reserves get up and running.

And on a side note, Currie looks pretty mobile for a big bloke too.

From Swans Website.

Patrick Veszpremi impressed in his competitive debut (against the New South Wales ACT Rams).
"He showed all the reasons why we drafted him. He's definitely got some talent. He has a great ability to get hold of the footy," Swans assistant coach John Longmire said.
Longmire also singled out debutant Murphy for praise.

Good signs I reckon!:thumbsu:

After chatting to spider and tim on sunday i found out a little bit. Spider expects t be back for the eagles game. He didnt see the point apparently in rushing back for next game. Schmidt said he would be out for 3-5 with a medial ligament injury he also mentioned that laidlaw had a similar time frame (although I dont know about the truth in that) with a similar injury.
HTH

Shame about Meredith too. Hasn't had a lot of positives written about him on BF since we drafted him. I thought he moved pretty well in the NAB cup game in Launnie and would have liked to have seen how he went in the 2's.

in a wire preview of swans v lions today, spida is apparently playing
i've seen nothing elsewhere to suggest it, let alone confirm it, but it would be a major development if true

Teddy at CHB? Will he take big bad Brown?!

He might take the hole in front of Brown!

Bolton on Brown, Leo on Bradshaw and maybe Mattner on Brennan (hoping to run off him, of course). Jack may well be asked to play a defensive role on Hooper or, possibly, Proud.

on a brighter note, nick malceski is training unimpeded and hopes to play NEXT MONTH
the story will be out this evening or tomorrow
roos is stunned, and it's being described as a miracle

This would havd been the role I wouldve earmarked him for before the season, but it now seems that he has taken Mathews's spot as a tagger. Bevo to return in defence on Hooper

If he seriously is playing next month, and doesn't break down before the year is out, it truly will be a modern miracle!

well, it's all been hush-hush, but the report will be public late tonight or tomorrow
he is training apparently as normally as you'd hope, and his only problem is a slight stiffness in the leg after he's been running
but the player, coach and club are aiming for his training schedule to step up for a return to playing next month
