Re: 36. Shannon Watt

2008 Week 1

Less said the better, not a great day for any of the boys.
Run him on the ball, play him up forward, DO SOMETHING DEAN, SOMETHING, when we are getting flogged. Can only do better, given another chance.

Week 1 - 2/10
Total 2/10
Very Average 2/10

Re: 36. Shannon Watt

2008 Week 2

Played most of his time on Brett, (however did move around on a few other blokes whom didn't kill us)as expected was always going to be beaten on a player of that class. However was better than last week, keeps running and for the 456th time I would like to see him in the role Brown played on the weekend, on the wing, dropping back and helping out when we are under pressure. Looks like he is going to get the running/half forward flanker. Has played on Buddy the last two times and should be given first crack this week.

Week 2 - 4/10
Total 6/20
Still Very Average 3/10

There is no doubting you Melly.:thumbsu:

I would have given Watt 3/10 for round 2 after his 2/10 in round 1 but you're entitled to your opinion.

Except to say the last time we played Hawkthorn Gibson played on Buddy.

Laidley had lost faith in Watt.:(

I hate to bag any of our team but, Shannon Watt is driving me up the wall!
There isn,t a player in the AFL that he can play on.
Short or tall they all kick his arse
Surely after his performance today he will go back to the roosters although thats not fair to them!
Surely we dont have to put up with his crap any longer
WATT MUST GO!!!!

Was OK at times. Hurt us when he fell over in the contest with Osbourne who than kicked an important goal. Wil be in the firing line when JWS/Sinclair come back.

Shannon Watt definitely wasn't the worst player out there today and put his body on the line on more than one occasion today to stop Bloody Buddy.

I am thinking the blokes who will be worried about their spots are Hale and Swallow. They need to learn to make decisions quickly.

did plenty of good things today but he is too slow when he has a mark or free kick. Someone has to make may for Smith and Sinclair and he's in the firing line.

Nope, second worst.

and put his body on the line on more than one occasion today to stop Bloody Buddy.

Brown did the same thing on a couple of occasions and he had to run from the wing to do it, as well as kicking a couple of goals.

Swallow was competitive again.

What other specialist clearance palyer is belting the door down to take his spot?

Hale MUST go.

Was one of our better players today whether you like it or not. Wasn't disgraced. Sure he lost his feet when Osbourne cleverly worked underneath him and goaled but you can't tell say he was the reason we lost. Our MIDFIELD
is the WEAK LINK. Simple as that.

Swallow has been RUBBISH 3/3 in 2008

Don't tell Chadwiko that.. ;) check out Swallow's voting in the sub-forum.. you'd think he'd have a a chance of a couple Brownlow votes in the bank according to Chadwiko. :D

He was ok today, I thought.

But that contest in the last V Osbourne (who is shitful and 5 foot 10) was atrocious. Got out marked and then just fell over limply. Had to do better than that. Is in a group of 4 or 5 that IMO, has to be moved on for us to buid a flag side.

But he was ok today.

Re: 36. Shannon Watt

2008 Week 3

Beat his bloke outright, when he was on the ground, played with Hogde, with Boyle was off, he did very little when on Watt, was on Osbourne for about 15 mins of the game and he kicked a goal on watt, after watt when for the spoil and lost his feet. ONE MISTAKE. Great game, helped out a few times with incoming balls and didn't make a turnover. Did his job on a player he should beat.

With Jess Smith or Sinclar in the he wouldn't have played on Osbourne as he wouldn't have been needed on him. Wrong choice/match up DEAN but when you have more forwards then backmen that always going to happen.

Shouldn't lose his spot, however we need to get Smith into the side, and Gibbo and Spud should be given the one and two every week. Also rolled his ankle in the third, ran it out.

Judge his game each week people, not his last 10 years.

Week 3 - 7/10
Total 13/30
Very Average 4.3/10

BUMP!!!!!!

..................You guys should read some of this old stuff.

In hindsight there are some great calls and some cracking comments.

Anyways...Im bored, can someone say something controversial?

Just wondering if anyone had heard anything about how he is training... I expect 2001 to be a big year Shannon...

Man, so many threads have been started on this guy over the last 5-6 years. Mostly negative, & deservedly so. But I don't blame him. I have no doubt he gives 100% on the track & out on the ground but he just ain't up to it. Never has been & never will be. I blame the NMFC heirarchy for investing so much time & effort into him when it was blatantly obvious 4-5 years ago that his current standard was as good as he was ever going to be. ie. occasionally be able to stop the 3rd best forward.
