I have regularly taken potshots at Richmond, but tonight i can't help but admire the way you went about it. On tonights performance against the "best team in the competition" you really gave them a run for their money and it wouldn't be all that shocking to see you playing finals this year.

Gutsy effort Richmond. You guys are going to give the finals a big shake. You went in bloody hard and it was impossible not to admire a team like yours. I cant remember a Richmond side as hard at it and you would of beaten every team in the AFL today except the Hawks and Cats... Special mention to Tambling, he sparked you lads and I hope he becomes the star he was destined to become and get out of Buddys shadow for good. WELL DONE

Jordy was soft when he needed to stand up and Edwards did zip and lacked the intensity he had shown the 2 weeks prior.

You might say I'm being harsh but it cold hard truth. In the current competition against top sides you cannot have a weak link.

Richmond had picks 1 and 4, Hawthorn 2 and 5 (melb had 3?) in that years Draft, so why are Richmond 2 years behind?

That draft of 2004 was when Richmond started their rebuild.
The Hawks had started 2 years before that when they got guys like Hodge and Mitchell to the club.
PS the third pick was to the Doggies and they too Griffen not to Melbourne

They have a few more with another 30 or 40 games under their belts. Of course that doesn't count for freak likes Rioli who just come in and look like they've played 150 games before they even start.
they just a few more across the board who are bloody good players and not stars like Franklin etc.
They're just alittle more advanced and have a better list.

The only high draft selection we had was when we drafted Fiora

Well done to Richmond, I thought you played a very good high pressure game, In all reality, the result could have gone either way.

Obviously not happy to lose but I was damn proud again with our boys. Just a bit too much firepower at hawthorn. Great to see a competitive unit finally coming together and adding some more class in the midfield with young cotchin will make a huge difference. Hawks could have blown us away with better kicking no doubt.

Thanks for the positive comments. Finally we are playing a progressive style of play.

Could have done with an orthodox CHF this week I think, though it appears tht was not part of the game plan.

Lots of positives to take out of it. Hawks just had too many forward options in the end I think.
