Campbell Rose Embarrassed by so called Supporters

I think it is $100 but not 100% sure. How much is entrance to a game these days? $20-odd for adult?

Yeah i know how it is cutting back and for many people the pay per month option is actually worse as it cuts down what they can spend per month as opposed to actually just spending some money in 1 go.

$100? in retrospect thats a good deal for someone like me at the moment. If your willing to commit some kind of fraud (personally I dont have a problem with that because its money to the club that they would otherwise not get).

they want to see your drivers license so you would have to get your country relatives to buy it and then give it to you? do they check it again at the gate?

anyway, too late for this year, and hopefully next year will be a bit different - maybe Ican line up the rellies for a birthday present or something.

I remember Campbell used to post on here under the name of CEO.
I agree with the OP you need to show your support in that fashion guys. :thumbsu:

I agree. Management should consider playing two or three games at the Whitten Oval against the interstate sides (i.e. Fremantle and Port Adelaide). It could be dubbed "family day" or "community day" or the like. It would bring a lot of people back who might not otherwise attend the game.

It would be fair to say that an attendance of 20,000+ would generate a healthy profit (although one would have to consider the expenses associated with preparing the ground, lack of corporate and seating facilities etc).

The club would need to spend Millions of $$$ to bring it back to a Venue where they can bring in spectators. The score board would need to be rebuilt, fences all around, Ticket turnstiles, Catering Facilities, Toilets, Opposition Change rooms, oh not to mention the ELC which would probably keep 2 - 3 Thousand people from getting into the ground, due to the space it takes!!

Now, what if every Bulldog Member wanted to see that game, where on earth would they go...........A block buster at the Whitten Oval, held 22K people, not 32K:cool:!!

You guys really need to capitalise and use the dome as much as you can. You will get more people in to the dome than you do with the Whitten oval.

I can confirm it

$100 - 1 Adult
$200 - Family (2 Adults & 2 Kids)

Condition your address is over 120 km from the Melbourne GPO

As far as I know they ask for nothing. At least they didn't ask for anything 3 yeasr ago and mine was sent to the Western Suburbs of Melbourne so I honestly think they don't care.

That obviously may have changed over the last few years though.

I recently got my son an AFL membership to go with his junior Bulldogs membership for 2008 (long story) leaving him with 2 memberships.

If anyone's interested let me know and I'll send them his Bulldogs junior membership which would still get you a few games this year (and won't affect the club in any way since our Dome payments are fixed by that prick Collins).:thumbsu:

Be careful. I loaned my grandsons' memberships to a member for her two grandaughters and they were confiscated at the MCG. BTW she hadn't mentioned that her grandaughters were teenagers. Memberships aren't transferable. I will get them back with a smack over the knuckles.

Of course he is , but we are being screwed by the AFL and their inability to fix it.

First you start a thread saying "Campbell Rose" is embarrassed

And I'm yet to see you put up a quote actualy from "Campbell" anywhere in it.

Now you are saying "Cambpell" reckons the website is crud !!!!

Again I see no actual quote from "Cambpell" about it.

Funny that I was talking to Robert Stubb's (the Cheif Operating Officer) on the phone about 8 weeks ago (on a membership issue), and he was aware of website problems but all parties were working through it. And on it.

I also emailed and got a reply from Justin Milne general manager of Bigpond Australia and he was working on the problem.

Are you talking directly to Campbell Rose about this stuff ?

Or are you just putting your words to his name without his knowledge ?

He replied

He was a bit surprised himself, as he is a Swans supporter.

He said that Telstra had spent a lot of dollars in the AFL sites.

I emailed him I had just spoken to Robert Stubbs who told me at the time that the Bulldogs site was still getting a fair few hits but he had heard that the Essendon site was the the only one operating properly at the time.

He replied promptly

I updated my operating system in the mean time, and since I have not had a problem loading the Bulldog site.

Since I have only heard mainly through here a few gripes about content, which I must admit has slipped since the Nathan Brown expose/deep and meaningful interveiws that took place many moons ago, or even the Mitch and Robbo pieces that followed it.

Bulldogs chief executive Campbell Rose yesterday called on supporters to rally before next Monday's membership cut-off.

"It's disappointing," Rose said.

"As a club that is performing on-field, I am left embarrassed.

"I would appeal to anybody who claims any interest in the red, white and blue that they should take action and join up.

"Get with the momentum that the club has got at the moment. From our point of view, there is no reason why we shouldn't be well past our members of last year."

Your right Borgsta he said it

Apology Memberforever :o

I would like to think as a member that as my clubs "CEO" he would be trying to work out why it has happened, rather than blaming the fans.

Why does the dip in memberships have to be due to just one reason? I think the reasons that other people here have put forward are reasonable and plausible.

Despite this I still think we will equal the profit we made last year because so many of us have upgraded. The club obviously has just realised it is on to a good thing and did a article on upgrading before the cut off. I also think that next year, we will be a lot stronger in getting memberships - as the level of expectation will have increased (similar to 2007). If we go all the way this year and make a grand final or god forbid even win won - we won't have to worry about memberships next year we will have to worry about getting a good seat:eek:

I think someone also put up figures that suggested the membership price had increased a fair bit from 2007.
