Will do very well at the box office, looks fairly predictable but it could be fun.

Jason Bateman is awesome, and with Charlize Theron(:thumbsu:) we get a little Arrested Development reunion.

The Will Smith factor will ensure it will does well at the Box Office, regardless of whether its any good.
 
Enjoyed it, was pretty good overall even if the end was a bit contrived and a walk down cliche-ville. 7.5/10
 
Was quite good but nothing groundbreaking. Just another Will Smith movie (which isn't a terrible thing).

It's a great concept and I'm surprised someone hasn't thought of it before in the comic books (although I suppose they probably have), tv show (perhaps animated) medium. A superhero that acts like a troubled sports star. I'm not sure about the movie thought, apparently they had a lot of trouble because they wanted them to tone it down to get a lower classification.

was nearly as disappointed in it as The Happening (not as crap though)

It is a very confused movie.

is it a fun superhero movie?
is it a serious character drama?
is it an edgey comedy?

it lurches between genres like a schizophreniac

It almost feels as if Robert Redford was directing a superhero movie seeing the amount of fake oversentimentality in the film. The musical score didn't help.

I don't want to give any plotpoints away but it is definitely the most ludicrious superhero backstory in years.

The best parts of the film was Hancock's anger management problems and Jason Bateman's dry wit.

What a horrible script. How can you ruin such a great idea is beyond me but they managed it. Should of made it a comedy rather then what it was. A mixture of every movie genre on earth. I was waiting for the muscial number at the end
 
Cluster____ of a movie.

Delete Charlize Theron from this movie, or at least take her "plot" involvement and it would be bearable.
 
I agree it was pretty confusing on what genre they were actually aiming for, but the movie was never going to be an unreal superhero type movie, it was always just going to be a typical Will Smith movie, few laughs but generally just a fun movie. It faded out towards the end and they tried to be too serious. Overall I got what I was expecting.
 
Felt very smallville-ish towards the end, and thats no compliment.

I had high hopes but was pretty disappointed, the Theron twist was pretty awful, even if she is a bit of bombshell.

Saw it tonight, was okay, agree with rest of you the movie had no idea what it wanted to be and became very strange at the end.

Got what I expected though.
 
First half was funny. Jason Bateman was good as usual. Some cool special effects. Was looking good. Second half just lost its way. Movie just had no identity. Not to mention some baffling plot lines.

For example, why do the thugs go back after Hancock with guns after they already know he's basically invincible? Seems beyond stupid.
 
I saw it last night was loving in the first half was a bit let down by the second but still pretty good viewing. Not every film is going to be a masterpiece this one was entertaining and that was good enough for us.
