Dazman they are terrible proposed trades.

That is highway robbery.

Salopek isn't worth Didak's right boot shoelace.

Knights is like many others on our list- he simply cannot kick. He doesn't possess 10% of Didak's ability. He is worth a 3rd rounder on his own.

Why are people undermining Didak's value?

Lets have some perspective people. Didak will NOT be going anywhere unless there is a suitable trade on the table.

I posted yesterday the Didak and Goldsack for Kerr but now I have doubts, WCE are trying to clean up their image and Didak has shown that when he is free from restrictions he takes full advantage.

I could see him going to Swans, Brisbane or either of the SA teams, though I am not sure what they will offer.

Yeh, if it really came down to that Genesis we would look at it but I would be hesitant in offering up our first round pick which will most likely be top 10. Would much rather offer a second + Didak.

Having said that, I expect both players to stay at their respective clubs.

I actually agree with you. I think this talk on both sides (Didak and Kerr) is just that. All talk. Mind you, there is a LOT of smoke hanging Kerr atm....

Problem with going the 2nd Rnd + Didak option is that its after ours. We have a few Rookies who will most likely be upgraded this year (Davis, Wilkes, possibly Wilson), meaning its doubtful we'll use anything after our first 3 picks, which are all before your second rounder. So it becomes somewhat valueless to us.

Would a sweetened Didak + 1st Rnd for Kerr + PP + 3rd Rnd (35/36 - no loss to us, I very much doubt we'll use it) get the job done do you think?

Is Kerr an alcaholic? Did he accompany a gangland hitman on a shooting spree and lie about it afterwards. Is he a pathological liar like Didak? Does he hang around with bikies? The last serious incident with Kerr hapenned years ago and appears to have grown up. So IMO he is much less likely to cause problems than Didak..

Not sure if Kerr's an alcoholic but he's has had just as many grog problems as Didak. He's hung out with plenty of gangland hitmen - Kuzon ring a bell?
And does fraudulent forging of prescriptions qualify as pathological lying? And hasnt he had his problems this year as well - eg a number of striking charges?

Thats the issue. We have a WHOLE lot more to lose by taking on the risk than you do. If we're arguing that it should be a straight swap trade, then surely WC would have to say "better the devil we know..."

The trade I suggested above means that you guys get want you really want, Kerr, and we get what we really want, your first rounder. Didak is the sweetener to solve the FP problems that have dogged us for years.

Fair point.

Because of the massive publicity surrounding the Cousins/Gardiner/Kerr/Fletcher/Judd/Chick etc etc debacle, I probably agree that West Coast would be less inclined to take a risk on somebody of dubious character. Collingwood's reputation, shattered as it is, is nowhere near as bad as the Eagles, and we are not under the direct glare of the AFL as the Eagles are. Therefore we have a bit more room than you guys for a bad egg.

I'd hope we don't deal with Port. Looking at their list, pretty slim pickings...any player/type we may need is either too old or haven't shown enough to warrant a swap for Dids.

I looked at this and thought Didak and pick 8, for Kerr and pick 4 .... wtf? then I realised the PP are at bottom of first round now.

Everyone,must realize,that Didak will not, i repeat will not be traded for less than a very high first round pick plus a player or a top player plus a second round pick mimimun.
I think alot of people forget that,the club can do what they want he is under contract and didak has to agree to the Trade.Otherwise he stays with restrictive clauses in his contract next year.
Collingwood are not under pressure to get rid of the guy,at the moment eddie's ego is hurt but believe me once the olympics start and the media hype has ceased,many things can change.
If trade time arrives and the pies get a great deal,then they'll trade if not he stays.
We keep talking up the draft but really there are only 3 standouts,rich,natanui and watts the rest well we don't know.
Look at the superdraft a few years ago,players like gumbleton and even reid to a degree who were touted top 8 can't stay on the park.Gumbleton who has a lot of potential can't stay on the park,and reid is injured and can't kick.Only selwood and gibbs to a lesser degree are showing their worth.So its a lottery ,some work out and many don't.
I wouldn't get too over excited with draft.

Forget Brown, he is very unlikely to move, he cost a fortune, he can’t play out a season and we have forwards. Brown is an outstanding player and have a lot of impact when he’s fit but there are too many ifs. Hopefully we’ll get to see one ifs the if on Saturday with a Chris Dawes debut.

Kerr is another matter. We desperately need a player like him in our midfield. At the expense of Didak I doubt we’d make much ground to be honest but at least we would be big losers as would be likely with another trade. Whether we trade Didak (I’m betting we do) I’d like to targett Kerr.

If we can’t land Kerr and Didak is firmly on the market I’d go for Ports first rounder. No arsing around, a take it or leave it offer with a days think music while we continue to talk to others. At the end of the week, if we can’t get pick 5 or better or Kerr (even if have to give p something else) or equivalent we should keep Didak. We just don’t operate well enough to be able to give up one of our best few players for a low return.

Fraser, Rusling and Maxwell should be traded in order to upgrade our picks and a few struggling to get a game should be culled. Didak is one of the few really good players we have drafted under MM.

History shows that, unless backed into a corner ( Mitchell White/Chris Judd) West Coast rarely trade players, they are arguably the best recruiters in the game (along with Geelong). As I posted yesterday the other thing preventing any Didak-West Coast trade is that (unfortunately) the Egirls have cleaned up their act well and truly off field. (I have a personal friend that plays for them who rekons things are 100% different to 2-3yrs ago.) and as such I dont believe they would look at him for a second. My personal opinion (worth nuthin but hey thats wot forums are for!) is that the only clubs that would SERIOUSLY go in for Didak would be Sydney (good track record with damaged goods players) Adelaide (SA boy, Crows need forwards) or Port (need players!!! coach that doesnt appear to take much sh*t.) Forget Kerr, unless it goes thru as one of those multi-club complex trades I just can't see it getting done.

Theres a LOT more than just three clubs that would have him. North would kill for somebody to replace the retiring Grant, Melbourne need all the help they can get and a big name to drag the punters through the door wouldnt hurt, Richmond could use another forward to assist Brown who is over 30, Brisbane with its record of recruiting out of favour players could always be in the mix, especially if Brown wants to walk home to Victoria, StKilda would kill for another forward instead of relying on Milne every week, and Essendon lack smalls/mediums in that mid age bracket. Carlton have the most one diomensional forward line in the land and could use another avenue to goal. And Freo are always up for a deal, they'll hand over Australias GDP just to buy a bag of peanuts!!!!
