oooh, touchy touchy. did i have any typo's as well?

well, i totally just cut up my membership. reason: its no longer VALID! im waiting for my 2010 card in the mail. HA!

thx again to all the hawk supporters flooding this thread, it has also made me very confident about our TRADING this week.

I was happy with the Lovett trade.
I was happy with the Williams trade

But this takes it too far
pick No.58 has gone from Essendon to Hawthorn. Exchanged for pick 89.

Who's coming to protest this, we's wuz robbed!!;)

Yeah what's going on. I thought we were fierce Rivals not great mates who help each other out.

Time to draw a line in the sand.

Haha, good question. Coz it's a type of gun? I really have no idea about the comic book thing that someone suggested. Please tell me Nighthawk is some really awesome character who destroys all...
I'm Dale, but you have to call me dragon.
You can call me nighthawk.

Basically Lovett and pick 42 for Williams, pick 24 and pick 33 considering Nash was probably going to be delisted and people are complaining!?

Welcome , Mark .just a hundred next year will do followed by that amount for the next few years
We now have a proven goal kicker , all we need is some others to step up and believe in themselves and kick GOALS and learn .

HF: Monfries - Hille - Williams
F: Davey - Neagle - Hurley

Just came a little.

One word - ssssssssssllloooowwwww

That forward line would get smashed by a good rebounding team.

Need a better balance between talls and smalls
I'd have:

HF: Monfries - Hurley - Reimers
FF: Davey - Neagle - Williams

McPhee to be rotated in and out of the forwardline along with Winderlich and Reimers. I also like the idea of Zaka as a small forward.

I'd also imagine that Hille and Ryder will spend time there as well as Gumbleton who would swap with Hurley CHB/CHF - the best thing is, is we have a lot of options - if everyone is fit.

Williams is pretty quick, plays like a smaller full forward really.

Im very sad to see him go, but if he wanted to leave, good luck to him. Certainly one of my favourite players and I hope he can get back to his best with you guys.

Looks good. Although I'd like to see Gumbleton as our CHF most of the time (he'd add that extra speed you wanted too). I'm not completely sure where to put Hurley as we don't really need him in the backline at the moment and I'm hoping we won't need him in the forward line but having him as a 3rd forward seems fine.
Plenty of options should create some competition for spots and that's definetely a good thing sadly that competition may lose Neagle his spot, even if he is playing good but hopefully that'll drive him to play harder.

HF: Kyle Reimers - Scott Gumbleton - Alwyn Davey
FF: Angus Monfries - Jay Neagle - Mark Williams

Keep Hurley down back to start with. Let's not get carried away with his antics down forward, i still think he will be our gun backman along with Pears, however, it is just fortunate for us that he has the ability to go forward.
Winderlich, Stanton and Zaharakis also floating through as smaller options which we need. Would also like to see McPhee forward, i'd proabably start him at HF and be that leading option that we need coming to the centre of the ground/HF.

Whether it's the most talented remains to be seen, but the options are really good to see. Very unpredictable forward line, which will hopefully mean hard to match up on.

Powers and abilities

The original Earth-616 Nighthawk is a superb athlete, who courtesy of an alchemical potion possesses mild super-strength and increased agility and durability from dusk till dawn. This version also had several costume aids, such as a jet-powered artificial wing system; artificial claw tips; lasers and projectile weapons. The Earth-712 versions lack powers but possess extensive training and use a variety of advanced weaponry.

super-strength, agility and duribility from dusk til dawn, just like a night on the piss. And lasers, **** yeah! :thumbsu:

lol to all that continue to put gumby in your potential forward line structures. When he gets on the park for more than 2 games in a row and does something meaningful for 5 in a row.. then include him. Personally I don't see that happening for a while if ever.

Also why are so many stoked to get "a proven goal kicker", we had one of the leagues most proven goal kickers (lloyd) and told him to piss off and play on the wing...

Was really onboad with knights but starting to feel really shaky. We need midfielders.. A grade midfielders not more half forward/back flankers (mcphee, monfries, houli, davey, jetta, zaka, mcveigh(unless he gets his run back) etc etc..

Getting anything for Nash however was a bonus but would have preferred to keep two 1st round picks so we can get some classy onballers.

Go Bombers..

This is a great deal. When I heard the news before the picks were finalised I was sceptical. However it's turned out great with pick 24 in there. You can't complain at all IMO.

Before Buddy and Roughy Williams held that Hawk forward line together. Remember people he's still only 26 years old.

lol wut?

Yeah we've got so many future 200 game KPPs we don't need Hurley, we should've traded him

Anyone on our list can do that

Agreed - it's beginning to bug me, why on earth people are putting Gumbleton ahead of Hurley staggers me.

Let Gumbleton string a few games together and then we'll see about starting - ATM Hurls is miles in front as a player.

Lloyd RETIRED - what part of this can you not understand, have you not heard his countless interviews saying that his time was up and he had, had enough? Are you calling him a liar otherwise?

I'm HOPING we won't NEED him but I know that if we do need him he'll be able to play forward or back and when I'm saying that I hope we don't need him I'm saying that I hope all the other potential KPPs will reach their potential while he'll be the extremely delicious icing on the cake. Maybe it wasn't worded greatly but you don't need to convince me how good he is, I have plenty of faith in him.

You don't make sense...

So you don't want Hurley to play because you want to give the our young KPPs a chance to develop?? :D

Hurley has got the potential to become the best KPP of his generation - Gumbleton needs to concentrate on getting on the park more than 2 games in a row - see the difference?

I think if lloyd had been allowed to play out of the square for the last two years and knighta had put his faith in him rather than telling him he would be part of a "rotation" lloyd would have played on. The guy loved footy and loved this club.. he was only 31.. Hall is coming back at 32-33 with a two year deal (from memory).. Lloyd had the past two years and probably another 2-3 if we had played him from the square in his fave position. He was shunted into a role that didn't suit him.. we are just lucky he loved this club enough not to play somewhere else. Would have kicked 100+ for the dogs... Lloyd said his time was up because he has honour and loyalty to this club. He is the LAST person who would have come out and trashed talked about how he was shown the door. Even at the end it smacks of a champion. I still shake my head to think we 'had' to make room for neagle.. If you can't see that knighta's treatment of lloyd (and to a lessor extent Lucas) was disgraceful then.. well lets agree to disagree.

Where did I say that I don't want him to play? I'm saying I want Gumbleton, Neagle, Hooker and Pears to become competant KPPs which is why I said I hope we don't need him (if for some reason he got hit by a commet or something).

I think you're taking what I said far too literally and yes, I realise we need to give Gumby time but that doesn't mean I don't hope for the best from him and I'd say if he becomes as good as people say he will be a Hurley/Gumby forward line would be our best. Happy now?

Just on this point, we're in a very different position compared to the Bulldogs, the Bulldogs will want a premiership next year, we're looking to develop our young forward line.

Why do you think Lloyd was moved from the square in the first place!?!? He was struggling to get a KICK! Or have you conveniently forgotten this? The first half of 2008 he was awful, putrid, couldn't get a sniff - the media was calling for him to retire, one dimensional etc - Knights moves him to CHF/HFF and he has one of the better patches of form since his halycoln (sp?) days and finishes 2nd in the B'n'F

You know the only game Lloyd has dominated from the square in the past two seasons was vs Melbourne '08 where he kicked 8 goals - against a bunch of 18 yr olds.

Knights' treatment of Lloyd/Lucas disgraceful?!?!? if anything Knights prolonged Lloyd's career by a year by playing him outside of the square, whilst Lucas was given EVERY opportunity to regain some form but his body wasn't upto it or do you forget how terrible he was during '09?

As a Hawks supporter I was sad to see Willo go but not totally dissapointed. He has great skills and is a beautiful kick but too many times he looks lazy and disinterested.

I hope for his sake and your sake he has 3 good years , but be prepared to be frustrated by him occasionally. Take the good with the bad I guess. overall, for the Hawks and Bombers it was a win win, you guys got a guy with experience for your forward line whilst we got leg speed in our midfield and a bloke who can play a similar role to willo as a forward (burgoyne).

Good Luck willo.

Also why are so many stoked to get "a proven goal kicker", we had one of the leagues most proven goal kickers (lloyd) and told him to piss off and play on the wing...

Completely different situation.

It was pretty clear that Lloyd (who we didn't tell to piss off, his decision to retire was of his own volition) was not going to be around for a Premiership tilt and thus when in the Premiership window, our key forwards were going to be young blokes. Playing Lloyd alongside two key forwards clearly didn't work, and for Lloyd to play in the side, it would have been at the expense of a young guy.

With Williams there is no such problem, because he can easily slide into the side in a pocket or on a flank.

So basically, with Williams we get a third main goalkicking option to support whichever combination of Neagle, Hurley and Gumbleton as they develop in the key positions. Lloyd wasn't capable of playing that third man role.
