Michael Christian and Luke Darcy are terrible. Don't mind Brian Taylor. Rex is good too. Both he and BT add a bit of excitement and humour.

Rex is a goose.
All about him.

I dont need entertainment with my footy call.
Just accurate and concise commentary with regular score updates, and interesting and thoughtful opinions.

None of which you ever get from Rex.

Radio
Best - Matt Granlin (SEN)
Worst - Anthony Hudson (SEN)

Absolutely zero love for AH from me, cant stand him

Can't stand Hudson either. Granlin isn't talked about much, but he's very good.

Rex was good back in the day, but he's really struggling now. He gets names and scores wrong, and he stumbles over his words. He's on his last legs.

BT should be taken off air until he actually learns the players name. Can probbaly get away with it on radio (unless you are at the game) how unprofessional can one get.

wtf?? What you have said applies to every commentator out there, except for the ABC guys.

Whately is streets ahead in the radio stakes.

Time Lane has gone from one of the best a decade ago to one of the worst since his move to television.

TV Callers:

Best - Bruce McAvaney

Worst - Brian Taylor

TV Special Comments:

Best - Matthew Lloyd

Worst - Robert Walls

Don't listen to radio much these days but Rex Hunt cracked me up in the day.

I think it's more a question of who is the least shit?

Fox Sports team is woeful featuring the likes of Dwayne and Matt Campbell. These guys are easily the worst.

Then the next notch up features the shit commentators like Bruce, Quarters and their buddies in Robert Walls and Tim Lane and the other Channel 10 guys in Huddo and Chrisso.

As for least shit- BT and Rex make up for Australia's abysmal calling standards by bringing their own style, which some nights may warrant having to turn off the TV/Radio to decrease the pain of the headache that they cause.

Absolutely despised Rex Hunt a a caller and as a person from what I could tell. If I have to listen to a game then I want to at least hear what is happening, not a lot of crap about people's craniums etc. He divides people into two camps and I am not toasting marshmallows on his camp fire. Denis Cometti's sense of humour appeals to me, as in today when, for example, he described Guerra as a human briar patch. Don't like Malcolm Blight or Luke Darcy much. They both seem to get off on listening to themselves.

What in the ****. This guy is terrible. Constantly gets players wrong, sounds like an annoying know it all **** that you'd just love to pound with a brick.
Is he an Eagles man?

Sounds like you suffer from an inferiority complex.

Doesn't pollute the broadcast with over-zealous rhetoric and rarely plays favourites like BT with Krakouer and Walls with Yarran, etc.

Every commentator gets players' names wrong, but when they deliberately go out of their way to do so, ie Taylor pronouncing Sandilands "San-deee-lands" and Krakouer "The-MCG-Specialist" time, after time, after time, it becomes disrespectful to the player and the audience.

Cringe-worthy stuff.
