Seeing as the draft is only a week away, can we just rename this the National Draft Thread?
Also, GET LOCKYER!!
In good Nick Emma QuayleHaynes has answered more questions than he's asked in the last little while. That's what happens when, less than 10 months after playing your first game in the TAC Cup, you've been interviewed by all but two of the AFL clubs and had more than half of them out to visit. They've all wondered the same things: why Haynes quit football when he was 13; why he only got started with the Dandenong Stingrays this year; whether he's committed or if he might give up again.
I'm thinking one of the midfield types at 22.
Grigg,McKenzie,Crozier,Kavanagh?
And i've got a gut feel about Dobosz for 44.
I like what i read about him and think he would compliment our forward line nicely.

$10 says she just copy and pasted Quigley's work lolhttps://twitter.com/#!/emmasq/status/137357043496525825

Pffft!
7500 words is too concise for the average draft tragic.
Jay Clark FTW.

DRAFT NEEDS
The list is in good shape, with depth in most areas. If the Blues can bring Watson and McCarthy through as key defenders, and do likewise with forward Mitchell, they'll be contending for a while. They don't have desperate needs and are taking minimal picks, so what they do at the draft may depend on which players the clubs before them snap up. Given the evenness of the pool, it could see several clubs lean towards picking for needs. Given that, the Blues are in a good position to simply pick the first player on their list with their first pick. That said, they could do with another big body to develop as a forward, particularly if they consider Henderson better suited to defence and even if they see themselves using Kreuzer and Hampson in those roles next year. Fraser McInnes, who missed some footy this year through injury, is a chance with the Blues' first pick. Jordan Murdoch is another. Depth means options, in case a couple of their youngsters don't turn out to be as good as hoped. Another reliable kick from defence would be nice, although Russell should be back in the team next year, and with Buckley coming in as a link-up runner, I could see them grabbing a midfielder who knows how to get the footy out and could possibly contribute next year. As good as Judd, Murphy and Gibbs are, the midfield is an area where the Blues are slightly low on numbers. The Blues are Clay Smith fans, but he may not reach them at 22.
Robinson might block Quayle on Twitter after she overlooked him as part of our midfield group.Agree with Emma that we are also low on real mids.

190cm, ran the 20m sprint in 2.76(fastest in this years draft) great hands, great left foot kick, very strong, can play any where. Played a tagging role in the Glenelg ressies G.F. went o.k., can be a target in the forward line. First year in the SANFL system has played for five teams this year, after just playing for one. Im biased would like to see what others think.
Young Tiger sets the pace"I think clubs are seeing he's just got so much upside," Glenelg football manager Ken Applegarth said. "He's got some exceptional qualities and clubs are standing up and taking notice of them."
Midfielder/half-forward Murdoch's standout feature is his blistering pace.
He recorded the fastest 20m sprint time of any player at this year's AFL draft combines, posting a sizzling 2.76sec at the state screening session last month.
Just three weeks ago, Murdoch ran his fastest ever time (11.27sec) for the 100m at a college athletics carnival to again catch the eye of recruiting scouts.
Combine his electrifying pace with his strong skill set and a classy left-foot kick and Murdoch is in line to be taken late in the national draft or at next month's rookie draft.
22 Carlton
Tom Sheridan
HEIGHT: 185cm
CLUB: Calder Cannons
Blues have enough developing big men. This hard-running midfielder has superb hands.

Would we pull the trigger on Clay Smith at 22 for needs?
Hmmmm.
Jordan Murdoch has some appeal if he's available at 44.

Love his left foot and pace, but not the handball in the highlights package that makes Bower look like Diesel.![]()
Then again...
In: Murdoch (Glenelg)
Out: Austin (Glenelg)
Do it.![]()
Though he's a Hawthorn supporter like Hamling.
Hawks might take one of these two with their later picks.
Do you mean the handball at around the 50 second mark of the clip? If so, it looks to me that Murdoch only received that handball. I could be wrong, though.
Seems like there's a chance Lockyer might be available at 44...Don't see how he fits our needs though :S
