Jesus Christ...

Gay has three meanings.

One is joyful.

One is homosexual.

The third, the one that everybody complains about, is lame/bad. I use it flippantly, and I have gay friends and have nothing against gay people.

PC gone mad, get over yourselves.

I was watching the Craig Ferguson show the night he was on. I thought it was pretty funny. His demonstration of "the pitch" was great.

2 points.

1. in the context he was using, it was the 2nd one. he was reffering to the sports break for tea, and the girly 'pitch' that shane warne does.

2. point 3 started out as a dig towards point 2, you can't deny that. Initially when someone would say "that's gay" it would refers to something bad and at the time, gay = bad/stupid/immoral ect. The word hasn't evolved since then.

I liked his apology to the Gay community though. It wasn't some bullshit apology full of cliche's, but it showed his thought process as to why he didn't find it offensive, and how his Gay BFF's helped him figure it out that the offensive was over the connotation that Effeminite = gay = bad.

OTOH, the GLBT community can be over sensitive at times. No ones asking for him to apologize to cricket nuts.....

Left-arm legspinners are pretty gay, to be honest.
Ghey things about cricket off the top of my head

Brett Lee and his heel clapping
Steve Smith's bowling action and general awkwardness
Bryce Mcgains bowling action
Virat Kohli's perfect hair and posing
Dizzy Gillespie cutting his mullet off
Stuart MacGill's bowling action and lack of arm length
England players always wearing rubber bands around their wrists
Mark Nicholas
Big Bash cricket uniforms

And here I was thinking comedians were the last remaining bastion against politically correct speech gone mad.

You could find something in every stand-up comedy routine in history to get offended by if you were that way inclined (no pun intended).
