I think we would laugh all the way to the bank. I dont think your club would be stupid enough to do this.

Channel 10 reported that rumours are rife he has turned down a 5 yr $600k offer from the Crows. Firstly why would we offer someone 5 years who is a couple of concussions away from potentially career ending injury. Secondly, why would he accept that, when he would expect to improve and earn more and lastly surely we would if we havent already offer the same money but a shorter term.

Twelve months ago Kurt was the most important player on our list.

Then Tex started taking contested marks, Sauce is an All Australian ruckman, we have two emerging elite midfielders (Patty and Sloaney) to join Thommo and the best young key defender in the AFL.

Providing we receive fair compensation for Kurt then the premiership window is still flapping.

When VB says it doesn't affect the playing group, do people think he is lying? They all love Tippo, and Tippo loves the club and wants to win a premiership with the team this year. It won't derail our finals run ffs, Tippo has been a brilliant servant of the club and it is no ones right but his as to when he signs.

The players aren't gonna suddenly stop kicking it to him if they have an inkling he is gone, just to piss him off. **** me people.
When the players said they loved Craigy and then the next week put in a shocking performance, were they lying? Players lie all the time, surely you are not that naive.

If the rumor is true ....then A) there's nothing we can say that will change it .....b) I am over it and fact is this kind of thing will only increase each year as players chase the $

I was going to say that we are in a S...t position in terms of getting something decent for Kurt with both GC and Brisbane down the bottom and effectively could get Kurt for nothing in the PS draft

BUT!!!

Then i saw our ace in the hole .....GWS who are desperate for a ruckman and are bottom (unless the scum beat Melb this week)

We have to get a tall as part of the Tippett deal and GWS is the key IMO

GWS want Tippett ........Give us #1 U17 draft choice & take Jesse Hogan a KPP and maybe a swap of 2nd round picks

GC want Tippett ........ give us Sam Day and a swap of 2nd round picks

Roo also talked about the clause and his mail is it isnt a concern. BACCS, do you honestly think a club legend like Roo wouldnt have strong connections at the club? We arent talking about Biglands here.

Kurt is still very much a very important part of our line up. Taylor can't take a pack mark like Kurt does. Add to the fact Kurt can ruck very very well and he's a very valuable player. If we lose him it'll set us back a few years.

I hope his health is ok first and foremost.

But if he wants to stay, sign already.
If he doesn't, we better get good trade value...

Reality is we can be successful without him, more quality mids thanks!

After seeing that we can cope without Tippett up forward, especially if Jenkins continues to improve especially his ruck work. I'm suddenly not caring so much if Tip goes, I'd rather we offered D-Mac and Hendo deals and say to Tip 'You held out and now this is what we have left to offer you. Take it or leave it.'

If he wants to go, then we should just trade him to Brisbane or GC. We could probably get Gorringe (Who could be a worthy replacement for Tip in a year or two if he can stay injury free and is from SA) and a third rounder for him from GC.

of course he does ....Bickley, Smart, Noble, Robran ....any number of sources

However unless Tippett has difinitively said "i wish to go" then until then it is just rumor

If Roo said it's because of the cash ......then it may be a negotiating ploy by the Tippett camp in response to the Crows ploy of involving Cloke .......strange that this rumor should surface so soon after that article

For every action by the club there's a a reaction by the player

I've been a negative on this for a while, but I've changed my tune. I think we should persue Tippett if available, with Day under contract till 2014 does that mean anything? I'm actually against trading him as well.

I'd prefer to trade Gorringe who was pick 10 that same year, plus our 2nd round pick (would that be pick 20 if we finished 17th?) for Tippett.

do you think adelaide would take redden and polec for Kurt tipit?

maybe throw in another player too make it two players for two players?

Is this a joke?? I am all for giving the Crows a fair deal but that deal is seeing the Lions get bent over big time.

It can't be about the cash if the rumour is true he's choosing GC over Brisbane despite being for less money. I don't think he would choose Brisbane, he loves the Coast. Brisbane is 45 to 1 hour away, why choose to do that travel daily when you don't have to?

50 mins between Gabba and Metricon as long as its not during peak hour (I live near the Gabba and travel it regularly.)

Gorringe is a ruckman firstly and day the CHF .......IMO Day suits our needs better

The fact he is contracted really doesn't matter if club & player wants the deal done
Besides GC have Lynch and along with Tippett it makes it kind of hard on day potentially

No that was Roo's interpretation which is only a guess unless Tippett has said it first hand .....which he hasn't otherwise the club WOULD BE aware of his decision to leave.

It sounds plausible that Brisbane have a deal on the table .......what Kurt wants is the same deal but at Gold Coast, who i suspect haven't entered negotiations yet with anything firm.
But that's just an opinion

Thing is though we aren't coping. Jenkins is only doing a servicable job at this stage. I know many are praising him for his efforts this year but lets be honest, on output, Kurt shits all over Jenkins. One's an elite forward who can ruck very well, Jenkins has just started out and done ok, but is a mature ager. Smack doesn't look like he's going to step up any time soon as well. If you replace Kurt with Jenkins, not only are you losing a good 30 goals+ a season, but you're losing his contested marking ability and his ruckwork (which is a lot better than Jenkins). I love Jenkins for the way he gives it a crack but at the moment we don't even know if he'll have a long AFL career. If we trade him for Gorringe and a 3rd rounder I'll ****ing lose my ****ing shit.

Assuming none of the GWS unsigned player compos get activated this year once they're allocated, GC's second rounder would be number 22 if they finish 17th.

That's true but IMO we have more players who can fill the CHF role on our list than we do players who can ruck, besides, Gorringe has been noted as being a pretty decent kick for goal.

being a good kick doesn't make you a forward .....Gorringe is more known as a ruckman and we have coverage there and in back up 2bd forwards/ruckmen

We need a true CHF/FF

Who do we have as replacement KPF for Tippett????? ..... McKernan ? Jenkins? .....who

But in addition to losing our 3rd KPP in two years .......we are already exposed in defense for KPD depth and now potentially exposed for KP forwards

No i don't agree we have coverage .....we need a KPP as part of any Tippett deal !

Over Rated Over Paid. Blessing.

Get me Redden
I really don't get you guys .......we have Crouch next year and our midfield is more than covered

Why do people insist on getting another midfielder simply because he's an expat ......has me gobsmacked

People we need KPP!!!!!!!
