Tigers had both J. McCarthy (vale) and Marric training over pre season. Port nabbed J Mac so we went with Marric. Unfortunately he didn't work out for us.

port nabbed macca so richmond went o'hanlon...
maric was taken in the rookie draft, not the psd

Beats me, they just seem so desperate to fill holes in their team.
Because we are coming from so far back thanks mainly to the Wallace regime and even the Frawley days. Both thought we needed top up players, most backfired. Add to this our drafting of kids back then. But I'm not allowed to talk about that, my therapist seems to think it's unhealthy for me.

My mail is that North and Collingwood are both happy to do a deal on Pederson, just a matter of coming to an amicable trade.

I'm hearing that there are two highly-contrasting deals being nutted out but the front runner is a pick upgrade (i.e. North's third-rounder for Collingwood's second or, if North get their way, North's fourth-rounder for Collingwood's second). Depends largely on what Collingwood think/know they can get with a packaged player* + third-rounder from a third party so there is a fair way to go in discussions but the point is they both want the same outcome (i.e. Pederson for something).

*I got no word on who that player is but the obvious guess would be Wellingham.

i guess i would be okay with that at least we get a pick back and not drop it entirely.

So you fix this by topping up a bit more?!?

has anyone else heard anymore about aron edwards from north think he would be a good depth player even at his best a pretty handy option as a lead up forward

said it before and i'll say it again, all power to you if you can get knights on the park, but he seems to have lost the penetration in his kicking after all those hammies, which was his major asset in the past.

It was injuries to both sides of his hips; had corrective surgery prior to this season. He's basically been injured constantly since 09 finals; I believe we mismanaged him and made his injury problems worse.

He's a good get - if he gets his strength/power/fitness back, he'll be excellent; if he can't, he'll be a decent mid range player. He's meant to be a fanatical trainer and preparer - so if its up to him, he'll make it again.

Low risk for the potential high return.

Knights did show potential early while he was at Adelaide, hopefully he gets his body right and he could become a decent get and also he is free, but he has been pretty poor for a while.

A fresh start could be the best for him as well just like Ivan.

Could this be a Trade the Lingers just to see who Blinks 1st?

I honestly do not know much more than what I posted. I don't know anything of Collingwood's strategy/plans for trade week 2012, nor do I know much about North's.

All I know is that talks between the clubs on Pederson have progressed relatively well.

And from what I can gather about Collingwood from my own analysis of their list, they could definitely use a Pederson type. My word they could.

I should add that in my own opinion, Pederson is actually not that good a player. Posters on the North board jizz over him and lament that he didn't play more seniors this season but, for mine, at AFL level, he isn't strong enough for KPF, doesn't know how to play KPD, and isn't a ruckman's bumhole. But I said the same things about Leigh Brown and he is now wearing a premiership medallion and the Pies looked lost without him so wtf would I know.

The fact that North are prepared to take a pick upgrade for him, though, and given how much Collingwood need somebody of his type, it seems NMFC are well aware of his limitations, too.

Time will tell.

Thanks for that Post and Infomation. I do get what you are saying by this Trade is more for Need for us then Rating a Player higher. It also tells me that Collingwood won't be chasing Martin or Giles

We saw Toby Greene , Jon Patton and Tyson here in Koh Samui watching the game....
Sources, (me) corfirm they drank watermelon shakes for the Hawthorn game and beer for the Collingwood game.. ,I asked them all to come to Essendon but they just laughed....True story...My instincts tell me they will all go to the pies hence the beers...getting in the swing of it...Patton is huge, Greene is tiny...

Heard that there are a couple of other clubs looking at Pederson, St Kilda is one, so Collingwood could have its hand pushed to get the deal done if they really want him, and I suspect they do.

Average experience of finals sides in the last 3 years is 103. Our highest number this year was 72. Adding Chaplin and Knights will help. Knights was fantastic in the SANFL prelim and has been free of injury for some time

And he's a good mate of Ivan. Locker next to him etc.

Our tail is too long. Knights will shorten it.

I know you boycott the North board so I'll let you know that's not actually true - you'd be thinking of the club's Facebook page, where people go into meltdown every week Scott plays Hansen ahead of Pederson (and Edwards). He's a huge favourite with the crowd that believes almost anyone in the VFL would be better than almost anyone currently playing AFL.

As you say, after their success with Leigh Brown, Collingwood would fancy their chances with Cam. He didn't impress at AFL level this year with limited opportunity, but was pretty handy last year as a mobile marking forward and decent ruck pinch-hitter, which is certainly what Collingwood needs while they have Jolly. I'd be delighted if they kept Cloke and we got the benefit of a Wellingham deal, but like everything else it needs to wait on the Travis decision.

Melbourne have so many holes they might think he'd help solve more than one problem, but it's not such a great idea for them - absolutely agree that he's not good enough to force his way into North's side as a KPF, KOD or ruckman so he's not a long-term answer for the Dees either.

But that's not North's issue - all good for us if there's competition.

Port - Ben Jacobs and Matt Thomas for the second rounder we acquire if Nahas goes to GWS

Just a wild suggestion on our/ Port board

No idea as to its veracity

Go the Richmond Power
