Though why would any club trade for Tippett while there's an investigation opening that may possibly de-register him.

Must agree with you there if anything this weakens Adelaide's position since there is a chance Tippett could be banned suspended fined or just bring negative attention to any suitor and scare away sponsers

I can see sponsers being put off when there is talk of corrption blackmail secret deals possible salary cap issues at Adelaide are all linked to Tippett.

Nah just the 3 year contract in 2009 covering 2010-2012

The AFC paid for his relocation to Adelaide this year. These payments should have been included in this year's TPP figures, which the AFC sent to the AFL. They weren't.

The payments to Joel Tippett have nothing to do with the secondary contract that Tippett & co strongarmed Adelaide into signing. It's a whole new (albeit related) issue.

I used to love Elliot as President too. He was a villian, but he was our villian.

Waayy too dodgy, and the club got burnt as a result. Got the ass and made Persona non grata.

If this new story is true and the 'secret arangement' contained clauses not only to get Tippett to his club of choice via draft tampering, but also contained clear financial incentives to set his brother up in SA, then you guys are facing a pretty big whack.

The fact this was wilfully hidden from the AFL for three years by your managment is also not good. In fact, its pretty ****ing far from good.

You wont get penalties anywhere near what we copped (our breach was systematic rorting for years, we had already been done before and had a suspended sentence over our heads, the AFL wanted a warning to others, and the AFL wanted Elliot (and Princes Park) gone, and wanted us into Docklands and reliant on AFL cash).

And even then our penalties are considered by many afterwards (including arguably the AFL when they greenlighted the highly suss Visy/ Judd deal, and pumped millions of 'special assistance' into the club) to be excessive.

The email is believed to refer to an agreement that Adelaide would trade Tippett to the club of his choice for a second-round draft pick at the conclusion of the three-year contract, as well as an additional payment.

I for one will judge Joel on Joel not on Krud, probably in the vast minority, but sometimes I think benefit of the doubt, he may be lucky enough to be adopted or something.....

Slightly OT but what are we doing with Laird? Surely he's had way too good a year at SANFL level to be rookied again? Would have thought other clubs would be willing to offer a senior list spot if we can't.

Wasn't happy about going for him before and still not happy. Depends how this goes really. If the agreement is validated it is outside the contract so both parties will cop heat. For mine paying more for a player who may not play is stupid. Regardless he will probably be sent to the draft

If it's been mentioned amongst the 600+ pages that John Reid was the source of the "sold our soul" quote (a couple of people guessed it may have been Rendell) and the level of regret he has over doing this deal, then I missed it.

Is there a rule about relocating footballers who aren't on your list to put them in a local state league, so you can keep an eye on them and see if you want to list them? I realise he's Tippett's brother, but he is a legitimate footballer in his own right.
