How early? If I recall before Paine was hurt both he and Wade only had one each and a similar average and similar games played. Wade has been great since but Paine couldn't really change that fact while he was out. I would like to see him bat up the order, always preferred him there.

Yeah, pretty sure I saw Doolan's average go up to 38 early on in his innings. It was 36.5 or so before the game, so must be counting towards the first class average. Over the moon at this performance from the lads, doing us proud.

Pretty early. Years now. Given he only plays half his games in Tasmania that isn't a valid excuse, and it's not as though others haven't made 100s there before.

I think you'll find he's simply told the umpire "hammy's a bit sore mate, I'm going off" in order to have his innings go down in the record books as not out. It is an offfical first-class match after all, no point stuffing your average when you can just say you're injured.
