Gillian didn't go into details about illicit drug use by AFL players, other than to acknowledge that they have a problem ib that area. Fair enough, they can paper that over with their three strikes policy, but if if it's come to the ACC's attention then you'd think that it was through links to crime figures. The crime angle is the biggest worry in all of this (inside information to bookmakers, spot fixing, match fixing, blackmail and extortion, etc).
Typical how the AFL conducts a press conference on Sunday arvo to tell us that there's only one other player involved in the scandal besides essendon. Talk about letting the cat out of the bag! I guess this will stop all the other players on the gear putting their hand up and confessing to ASADA. No one better than the AFL at putting the brakes on controversy. Typical attitude of damage control over fixing the problem.
The rumor is based on the tall poppy syndrome.

according to nine news. all clubs have denied the drugs except for adelaide, collingwood, richmond and port adelaide who all refused to answer.

I dunno about Collingwood and the Crows, but Port Adelaide's refusal to comment might have something to do with having Angus Monfries on our list (ditto Richmond with Lonergan). FWIW, Ken Hinkley said at the Family Day that Port are planning to let the investigation take its course before making any comments on the issue.
