“He’s a midfielder from Box Hill, [standing] at 188 cm. One of the flavours at the moment is the midfielders who have got a bit of height, can run and play inside and outside,” Neeld said.
- Brian RoyalWith the limited time that he’s had at the club over the pre-season, we’ve been really impressed with Matt, particularly from a football point-of-view. He needs to get stronger in the gym, but that will come with further time in the program.

Looks like a great bloke, does Jones. I take it from the article that he's probably not best 22 off the bat, but frankly he appears to deserve it.Sometime this season Jones might match his grandfather, Trevor (who played one game with North Melbourne in 1940) and play a game at the highest level.
That would fulfil objective number one.
"I just want to play a game. That is my first goal. Other than that I have not thought too far into it," Jones told AFL.com.au.

Played 15.
Averaging:
20.2 disposals
4.6 marks
2.9 tackles
Locked and loaded for a top 5 in the Bluey, could win the thing.

Should add Terlich to the title. Those two have had amazing starts to their overdue careers.
That's getting extremely carried away, he's been good but it's Nathan Jones and Colin Garland by a country mile.
Does anyone else think he looks like a cat? Or a meerkat?
I think we should give Bail and Nicholson the boot and replace them with two more speculative mature-agers like Jones and Terlich. Obviously Kent and Clisby haven't been quite as successful yet, so we can't expect EVERY mature-age pickup to fire, but our average is certainly better with them than it is with other AFL clubs discards.
I think Jones and Terlich are both absolute locks for top-ten in the bluey (and conceivably top five), which is an indictment on the guys they're beating.
Kent is 18.
Young fresh Kent.
Doesn't even look same. Simples.Does anyone else think he looks like a cat? Or a meerkat?
Could it be suggested that the MFC has a reasonable draft?
