I'm almost certain that we find out once the free agency period is over, including the last 3 days where clubs can match offers, end date is October 21st then. That would give us 4 days to do a deal with pick 11.

I say we trade pick 10 for Adams now and get him before the Cats figure out a way to steal him off us.

I agree. Geelong are in no position to secure both Adams and Shaw which is why I believe they won't get Adams and he will land with us simply because of all the bargaining chips we hold over them.

I think Ross failed well before that, running his player into the ground through encouraging him to play through injuries and then telling him he faced being superceded in the pivot with less game time because he was slowing (because of playing injured) is hardly the way to treat an ex captain and hope to retain his services.

The whole problem with a Geelong trade is that a/. we lose one of the best medium rebound defenders in the game for some unknown quantity at 15 in a weak draft and b/. we give Geelong one of the best medium rebound defenders in the game.

The loss is compounded on both sides of the ledger. A significant loss for us, a significant gain for Geelong and an unknown quantity at pick 15.

Wow, the Cats fans really don't rate Heath Shaw do they?

I've spoken to a few tonight (via different formats) and they really don't see pick 15 as a fair deal, so their board on here is actually quite accurate, as far as their fans go anyway.

Surely pick 15 isn't that good though, and we aren't going to agree to trade Heath to a top four team unless the give us something of real worth.
