We may get Adams, but the major problem with this proposal is Geelong get Shaw. We don't want that.
If Shaw is being difficult hold onto him and phase him out over two years. There won't be an extension from us or interest from other clubs after that.
We've got to look after the club's interests and giving Shaw to Geelong is a double blow. If he is getting inflexible, I think we need to do the same.
If Geelong are being fair and willing to offer their first pick, then I don't see that as being "inflexible" by either Cats or Shaw.
It would be inflexible on our behalf if we were offered that but still refused to trade him there. At the end of the day, it's a "mutual" decision by both club and player to "explore" other options. Whilst we hold the cards, we won't hold Shaw to ransom if we are offered a fair price by Geelong, even if they become stronger with his inclusion. I'd expect that we would do the right thing by him.
