That's just the bulldogs way. They never offer value and try to bend everyone over, impossible to deal with.

Hard to offer value when you don't have 2 cents to rub together, they could pawn the cup I guess? Plenty of pawn shops out that way...should get good coin, one of a kind, only one made.

Purely based on watching the AFL.com videos, Garlett is a top 5 talent in this years draft. Must take a chance on him - High risk, high reward. Negates our draft sanctions should he hold it together.

I may have mis-heard, but I think on SEN Dodoro said that we wouldn't be using pick 58 (from Freo) as a live pick anyway. Currently we have 26, 66 and 84 (Dal).

Am I missing something or is their movement with Pears?

He did say this. I guess he was thinking that a pick as late as 58 this year would be worse than upgrading Del'Olio/Steinberg. Of course it might just be bluster to put the pressure on Freo to cough up their second rounder.

We WONT have any PSD picks - so please stop.

We ATM as far as im aware only have one rookie spot open. That may change with last list lodgnments with guys like Dellolio, Steinberg ect but i think they will probably stay on for another year.
I think they'd be pretty keen to leave the rookie list how it is until next year when there should be better players available to take a punt on. If we get a better pick than 58 off Freo then we give Del'Olio/Steinberg one more year then clean it out completely next year. No point filling it with spuds this year and finding we can't draft a potential star or late bloomer next year.

I agree.

We did the right thing last year (IMO) in throwing him to the winds after his stuff up.

I always thought it would be another club that benefits by taking him, but we have not only the chance to secure him at 26, but we almost have an obligation to take a risk due to the sanctions.

Edwards, Aylett, Garlett + Live Draftee at ~50ish (from Freo) is a very nice looking uptake of young talent.

At risk of flogging a dead horse...

Is this the final piece of evidence needed that the entire asada/Afl witch hunt was a farce? Not only can they penalise from an open interim case, now they allow players to move and sign contracts despite an apparently open case. Joke.

So what if they came back with inf notices now? the trades and picks and contracts can be unwound?

Amateur hour.

You expect anything less from the AFaiL?

Chapman already stoking our collective ego with these Premiership comments I see.

Good to see regardless as with that reference to our round 18 clash with Hawthorn he is clearly switched on etc.

It's so wrong that we have to live with this cloud hanging over our heads (the players especially).

Its been almost 9 months now and we still have no 100% guarantee that the players are safe.

F*U*C*K*ING ASADA need to end the torturous wait for this probably harmless but potentially apocalyptic report.

No if we redraft him we just pay his salary as agreed unless someone takes him before us meaning they take over his salary demands...

While that would be a fantastic situation it's not going to happen, best chance is that we trade him to another club and pay a portion of his salary.

Hi Bomber fans. I am selecting for your club in the Collingwood board phantom draft. If anyone has some suggestions regarding the names or types of players the club should draft at each of your picks, I would be grateful for any assistance you can give me. You can PM me or reply here, though I don't want to clutter up your thread. If it is likely that a later pick will be used for a rookie upgrade, I would love to know. I will of course read through this and other relevant threads for information. Thanks folks.

Wonder how much Coll are paying gws for Shaw next year?

Who know's apparently it's a 'small' amount but I doubt that, I'd be pretty keen to split the bill on Jetta's salary if it means it gives us an extra spot to pick up Mav Weller. Would still mean we would need to delist one more (davey).

Garlett
KPP
Mav
Dalgleish

But ideally we need two more maybe even three talls in the next two drafts. You grab one this year if the right player is available. Don't forget that we effectively lost 3 talls this year Crameri/Gumbleton/Hurley - Fletch will be gone next year . And Pears has gone missing !

Grab 2 talks next year would be the way I go. Wouldn't call crameri a true tall though. Best available for
Mine this year
