In terms of the parts used, sure. But I don't think the Yeo trade gets done for pick 28 without pick 6 for 11 and 31. Because this trade was made it allowed teh club to be more flexible in dealing throughout the period.

Without the Collingwood trade we could have very well had Sharenberg/Aish/Sheed + 28 + 61, with Yeo coming in for 44, 43, or perhaps both. The bounty could have been something like Aish, Taylor, Yeo, Marsh/Main if we'd hardballed the Lions and not traded with the Pies (plus Morton/Dalziell).

Who knows. Either way it'll be a few years down the track before we know what this draft was like. It could be 2001, it could be 2009.

You are assuming Brisbane would blink and accept that, indications are if we didn't offer it then Brisbane were prepared to let him walk and he would rather re-sign than let that happen.

Yes I would. I think Taylor will have a better career than Yeo. Maybe I'll be wrong. I'm just guessing. It's still a close call mind you, and I certainly wouldn't have preferred 28 to Yeo prior to the draft. It was still a good trade.

Your underrating Yeo or overrating Taylor. If taylors value is 28 (which it was just deemed as being) Yeo is worth plenty more. I rate yeo as about a pick 15. Only reason its not higher is i think he is limited by the fact he will always be a flanker and im not sold yeo will make it as a mid.

The difference between 31 and 28 became very apparent. 28 meant a big slider in taylor or dumont. 31 meant Karpany (went about where he should).

Lot of gun talls next year. Hopefully it means a few mids slide. If we can get Waterman with our 2nd pick while still keeping our first to draft a mid we'd be big winners with 2 first round mids!

It seems some have decided that this years picks will not win us the 2014 flag of their own boot, and concluded it is a massive fail draft for us. I am not sure what they were expecting. Even Boyd can turn out to be a dud in the end.

This comment of yours is a deliberate twist on what some folk expected, for I haven't read of anyone deciding the players selected will win the 2014 flag off their own boot. Many expected WC to pick big-bodied midfielders, hence some WTF comments ensuing. (For purpose of clarity, big-bodied isn't simply a matter of height).

If we are getting Waterman for our second rounder next year i would be happy to go tall with our first rounder. We could do with a high end Young KPF/KPD propect the ones we have currently are no guarantees.

Given your angry comments in this thread toward those with obviously contrary opinions to your own, in regards to WC's drafting, why do you have a problem with those comments? They're only opinions, yet it's not the first time you've openly displayed your disgust. One could label your continued desire to only read the positive and thus have your ears tickled as being a fanboi. Rest assured you're not alone in that department, for there's quite a few fanbois on this on this forum.
