Oh we'll didn't work out for him. He has a test world record to brag about.Yeah better to move on quickly from him. Was out of his depth, even in the field he looked like he was struggling. The catch off Pieterson he almost managed to drop it. Was only really suited to play a one day type of innings not a long 'test match' innings.

Root out?
The first bit of significant news is that Joe Root appears to have lost his place in the England side in favour of Gary Ballance, which means Michael Carberry gets another chance. I'll confirm all the teams news as soon as we get it, but Boyd Rankin is also set for his debut while Scott Borthwick is expected to play - the first time since Nagpur 2006 that England will have fielded three debutants (back then it was Cook, Panesar and Blackwell). And, in fact, caps have just been presented on the SCG outfield to Ballance, Borthwick and Rankin.
Root out?
Geez, there would be a few English batsmen taking a good look at themselves if Root has been dropped. He's far from their worst performed batsman this summer.
England really had no other choice than to make changes. The series is lost and the humiliation nearly over. The very least it will do is get games into some new blood.

Also, of the three debutants- Ballance played junior International cricket for Zimbabwe before moving into the county system and Rankin has played for Ireland.
An Irishmen, a Zimbabwean and a bunch of south Africans.
