This could be interesting - war of words about to explode? I think he is just trying to coax Man Utd or any other bigger club to come in and drive up the price.

Looking forward to a series of increasingly agitated responses where both sides have subtitles

"The Toon FC is a much bigger club than Montpelier will ever be, an the manager of Montpelier should stop slagging off The Toon FC while wi try te nick a player frem his piss ant club "

Haha yeah, if we respond, I'm sure the translations might lead to some funny results.

To be fair, this kind of attack isn't the first or unusual for Montpellier. Their owner is a pretty flamboyant and outspoken individual so doesn't surprise me their manager is throwing a bit of stick around.

The news on Rhys Williams is good. More Aussies playing in England, whether it is Championship or Premier League the better, that where you learn to apply your craft, would benefit the national team immensely. Of course as long as you are getting constant first team football there.

Disagree tbh... it's a tough standard but the English NT is rubbish for a reason... the development programs are crap on the whole (there's a few exceptions) and players don't improve or develop. It's a good place to play if yore an established star cos the rewards are great... but personally if prefer our lads plying their trade on the continent somewhere before England - unless of course they're stepping straight into first team PL football.

My own pretty baseless theory is that the financial repercussions of success or failure in England is just too big - it's makes survival or instant success preferable to doing all the right things to develop a team, system of play and the players themselves. For 90% of clubs it's about getting into the premiership and then staying there at any cost. You have this I all countries, but I don't think it's as great personally.

Tommy Rogic to the Victory on loan til May, great news for not only Victory but the national team and it'll help him immensely. But seriously if he can't get a game in the SPL then I wonder how good he really can become, luckily he has time on his side.

Well it is Celtic, he'd be getting games at any other SPL club.

Hope he goes well at MVFC

No they aren't. They hold their own in the CL for a reason.

Beating Shaktar Karagnday, Elfsborg and Cliftonville to get to the group stage isn't exactly that great, they then finished bottom of their group with a GD of -11. I reckon most top championship clubs could make the group stage with a run like that. Rogic should be looking at a lower championship club not a club like Victory. Seems he wants to play WC more than further his career.

Agreed he should go for a Championship club. Celtic had a terrible CL campaign, agreed, but wasn't it just last year that they beat Barca?

I think you'll find Barca had already progressed to the final 16 and put out a poor side, still an immense effort though no doubt.

One off games don't really mean anything.

Celtic play in a pub league.

But they still have a decent squad. Just making the point that Rogic not being able to start doesn't reflect that much on Rogic's own ability.

Why would Celtic loan a promising player to a rival club?

Even if they are pretty much guaranteed the title.

Who said it has to be a rival club?

Why not send him to a mid-low table club?
