Injuries unfortunately we cant help......but something I heard a coach say to his players during one of the breaks on VFL game on tv today (mum was watching it) seems to have locked into my brain....

..and it adds to what I've been thinking for some time.

He said that those who weren't involved in the play were to go back and set up their spots in readiness for the ball should it come there....that is basically all he said.

Our kids all have talent and know how to play, or they wouldn't be where they are......imo they can be over-coached and bogged down in instructions....let them play their positions and stay there and only those immediately around that position to the play, others stay ready for the ball.

Let them play their natural game..

It has always bugged me that the ball comes down into our forward line, and no-one is there....or vica virca, down in the backline. Stay there!!

What a shit season it is turning out to be.

With a game like this I suppose its a difficult job to make the game seem appealing for viewers.

Yep, amongst other things that the AFL does so very poorly, commentary across the board is so amateurish in comparison to US and European sports.

Last week I said to myself "ah well, it can only get better from here...." This is now embarrassing and shameful. There needs to be fundamental changes made.

I feel sorry for the blokes out there today. They're obviously not trying to lose we're just not good enough. Port are the real deal and are oozing confidence and skill. It must be very demoralising for our players. I think they're going to nee a lot of support from us supporters to get up this year.
